I was talking to some writers at the game last night about who voted for who for the Norris. Many said they thought Doughty was the winner this year.

"He may win that award for the next 15 years."

I haven't paid too much attention in the past about the press coverage of the awards before they are announced, but most of the Norris finalist stories seem to be skewd towards Doughty. Does this usually indicate the winner? Was most of the press centered around Chara last year?

****, CRAP, Muther******. If Eklund has Doughty winning it, that doesn't bode well.

Lets just hope Eklund, like a blind squirrel finding a nut, gets lucky this time and called it right!

This guy also put Doughty first on his list. Didn't list Mike Green at all.

I agree.

I think it is still going to be Keith but I'm hoping that the hockey gods are kind and that for the first time in his life Eklund will have been right.

Such an amazing player, we are so lucky to have him, I really hope as soon as he is able to talk contract that Dean signs him, something like 10 years $75 million would work.

The guy is going to be one of the best players in the NHL for a long time.

While I want to see him win it, I don't think he will this year and in fact I see him coming in third in the voting but, lets not undervalue the simple fact that as a 20 year old he was even nominated. For my money there isn't a single defenceman in the NHL that I would deal him for and that is a very big thing.

I hope that he pulls a Dave Taylor and stays with us for his entire career.

He will win plenty of top d trophies.

This shouldn't even need to be said. Why would anyone trade a 20 year old Norris candidate, who wants to play for your team, for any other defensemen in the world.

If he continues along this path he'll be one of the best of all time before it's over.

It is dne way of saying that it doesn't matter if he wins the norris to me as there isn't another dman that i would rather have than him and that i hope remains a king for the entirety of his career.

easier to understand?

good

He Will Win Butt...

He is the best young defenseman in the league with out question to most of us. However I see one glaring flaw in his game that coinsides with our Captain. His passing can be attrocious and dangerous turnovers are aplenty. I think he can vastly improve on this aspect of his game and be the best playing today.

Adding his hip check and being more aggresive as he has been is awesome to see he is so willing to add aspects to his game or improve I love this about the guy! I just don't think he deserves this honor yet. Trully Keith and Green had incrediable years and in my humble opinion put their team in less trouble with their passing than our young Drew boy did.

I know many will call me out on this but harken back to the beginning of the year and remember his first 10 games? OMG... and it did not stop there, even late in the season it cropped up at times... this must be addressed in practice. That is my humble opinion as a fan and follower of the Kings and DD.

Doughty is a poor man's Subban!

Today, not even Tyler Myers or Drew Doughty gives me this impression (for Dmen). But Subban does, and its not because he plays for my favorite team. There's just something about PK. He brings about everything to the table.

It's not hard to miss. It's in the "Everything PK Subban" thread. Though, some of them think of PK as Doughty-lite.

I think its starts around page 30....
