At this point McCormick/Cowan > Mair/Ellis, out of wear and tear on the second two alone.

Hopefully Mancari comes too.
This had crossed my mind this morning. A guy like McCormick who hasn't sniffed the NHL all season long after spending considerable time there in previous seasons has gotta be feeling like a caged pitbull. He'd come out hungry and physical, thats for sure.

Any updates? Vanek gets another three days rest... hopefully that's enough to get him back into the lineup.

He's skating today with the guys from Portland, while the rest of the team has off.

According to Lindy, he will be participating in "battle drills" for the first time. Not sure what that means.

I read that as: puck battles along the boards type drills which can work the ankle/foot at lot kicking the puck around and what not but that is just the way I read it.

Are there any updates on Hecht? Could he possibly be back in this series if we go to game 7? I know originally an article said he'd be out for "weeks", but usually a time frame as vague as that can change from week to week.

"more than 1 or 2 weeks" was the answer given, which I read to mean 3+ weeks. So, no.

Vanek and the Portland guys will be reenacting the Easter Rising of course, the first step on the road to Irish independance, which started 94 years ago today. The fighting consisted of urban warfare on the streets of Dublin; hence, "battle drills."
