Hello Chicago Fans!

As an Edmonton fan a really would like Marcus Krüger from you.

Thoughts?

Chicago made it a priority to fill its center depth last draft, and with Krüger looking the most promising out of all of them, I highly doubt he'd be on the table.

Would you settle for Tony Lagerstrom?

I doubt we trade Krüger. Overpayment would be need from your Team.

Or a Package with HUET and we don't get back an Overpaid Player

How about:

To EDM:
Rights to Krüger
Huet

To Chi:
Bulin-Wall
1st rounder 2011
2nd rounder 31st Overall

Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure we don't want Khabby back.

No to Khabby. Like I said, no Big (and bad) Salary back.

and I don't think we need the picks so much, that we take back Khabby and trade Kruger.

Kruger will be a Hawk. A good Hawk. our #2 Center for years to come. IMO

Can't take Khabbi back, as it does nothing for our salary cap situation; Niemi can handle the job or at least can give a reliable 40 games which is good enough; so ... this might be worth it to move Huet...

How about add Souray, and take Sopel as well...

Making this:

To EDM:
Rights to Krüger
Huet
Sopel

To Chi:
Souray
1st rounder 2011
2nd rounder 31st Overall

-and really if you want to change around the draft choices above like make it a 2nd in 2011 instead of a 1st, that would work for me.

The Hawks would ask based on his potential upside, the Oilers would offer based on what he has accomplished so far.

Do you understand why prospects don't normally get dealt unless one team has given up on one? The gulf between those two is insurmountable.

There is very little worth anything at all on the Oilers these days.

Ok, well looking into Mr Souray's contract situation I think you may be right about this one Bubba - it is a little too long still; his production was off this season -however I think that he is still a useful guy with a nasty streak.

The point is all about wanting Huet less, and to get him off the books without needing a buyout.

In this situation too, I can see dropping Boynton as well as Souray would have his role (plus may still have some sort of offensive upside (when compared to Boynton) as well as having some sort of intimidation factor. This isn't to say that I have a problem with Boyton per se, but rather I think at some point the team would be too deep for him to have a spot. I suppose in theory there is a guy that could be in the AHL during a significant part of the season (I'd seen it happen in the IHL back in the day ... so I doubt the use of the minor leagues is all that different now). So I see the point, in that no one wants to stunt the development of a younger player... but it comes down to (in my case) how badly do you want to move Huet -and not have to resort to a buyout. Coldplay is probably dead on the money when he says no one would want to play for a team that they signed with as a UFA only to end up in the minor leagues -certainly not someone that got signed for a significantly sized contract. Eating the contract is not an option. Buy-out is -but if it were me, I wouldn't want to be committing about 2 mil for a guy not on the team -not for that period of time, if there was another option. And yes, BWC I know who signed him -so yeah you aren't really wrong about the Tallon stuff.

Deal him however you can, if Krueger is what it takes, then -go for it - in the end what I wrote was more of an end result and not doing the bargaining stuff ... which is what Mr Bowman is paid for. But you probably have to take something back that isn't perfect -Souray wants out of Edmonton (or so I've read).

It is going to be an interesting convention time- as I wonder what big name McDonough is going to be promoting then -I can't see any acquisition only moves that can be made -and there are no big salaried UFA's on the team to offset with a big name signing. (And if you are getting that I am a little unsold on the entire "convention thing" -then you'd be understanding where I am coming from -- that isn't hockey related - that is all PR ).

but why should I move a goalie (who we could still use as BackUp) for an DMen we don't need.

Change Souray to OSullivan or Horcoff. We could need a Center.

Do you want to have a D with #2, 7, 4, 51 + Souray in the CAP World?

I guess then that is the basic part of the problem, as to how useful Huet is.

I think he has lost it, and as such he needs to move -if for nothing more, than to address the salary cap. But as they say, we'll see. He is a big cap hit for a backup.
