Muzzin winning OHL Defenseman of the year.
Kozun leading the WHL in scoring.
Azevedo leading the OHL in scoring the year before
Bernier AHL goalie of the year.
Hickey with International gold medals.

there are more accolades I'm sure. While none of that is guarantee of NHL success, it sure bodes well! Can't believe this team can get waaaay better.

Teubert also had a gold medal from last year, Loktionov won the Memorial Cup last year. Kozun, Jones, Teubert & Schenn got a silver medal with the Junior Canadian team

It's great about these kids but Bernier and Schenn are probably the only ones who will have significant impact in the NHL. Most of our skill forwards are undersized.

You could have said the same thing about Simmonds back when we drafted him.

I think Kyle Clifford is going to have nearly the impact of Schenn BTW

Doesnt the simple fact that the Jackass is on our roster and slated to play tonight constitue enough of an emergency such that we could call up Muzzin?

Just asking?

Honestly him and Schenn both. But the playoffs were a must and Lombardi couldn't take the chance. They'll be Kings next year.

I had a chance to see Muzz play twice this past season and he is clearly head and shoulders above his competition. That said, he looks like he will be a solid starter in the AHL next season and I wouldn't be shocked to see him get a cup of tea with the big club next season. I would say that if you watched all of the good qualities that Azevedo has (and he does have them, they just don't shine at the NHL level...yet) and then gave some of Greene's stay at home thrown in you would have yourself a Muzzin.

Say a more mobile poor mans Greene. I would guess that he could become a solid #4-6 dman with a good first step and his head on a swivel.

Muzzin reminds me of a more physical Brad Stuart.

A physical Brad Stuart..... Yep I can see that with the exception that BS seems lost at times on the ice while Muzzin seems to look like he always knows exactly where he is going. I am certain that isn't the case but he plays with that kind of confidence. I want to see what he does in the AHL next season but, I stand by my prediction. The Hounds will be a sorry team without him.

I agree. I wouldnt be surprised to see Simmonds stay on Kopitar's wing and then have Clifford play with Handzus and Richardson. Inserting Schenn and Clifford into the lineup significantly increases the toughness of the team

Brad Stuart can be pretty damn physical himself so if Muzzin can exceed that I'd be elated. Muzzin is definitely a solid prospects and seems to be doing well in Manchester's playoff run.

Don't be surprised if Kozun becomes a regular. Everything about his screams St. Louis

Should be a tough fight between Muzzin, Voinov, Martinez, Hickey, Jones, Drewiske, Harrold for the #6 & 7 spots.
