Wed, 28 Apr 2010 7pm Canadiens vs Capitals

Until 92Rahman creates the official GDT. We can use this thread.

If a GDT has not been created by 12 noon (EST). The opportunity to create a GDT will be open to the first person who volunteers.

Wow game 7, how many of you predicted this?

Go Habs Go!

I've been a Montreal Canadiens for over a decade.

I can't remember being this psyched about a Habs playoff game in the past. Quite simply, I can't sleep at all! But I don't care if I get 2 hrs of sleep as long as the good team finds a way to move on to Round 2.

Go Habbies!

I certainly did not predict this to go to 7.

I had the Habs in 6!

Many of us (myself included) predicted Habs in 7. When it was 3-1, I swear I wasn't worried. It was only until last game, when I knew the Caps were going to be shooting like crazy that I was scared ****less. Of course, that's how goaltending legends are born. I'm hoping he doesn't have to do that again until a potential later round. We have the team to do it, we have the momentum, we have the fans, we have the rookie, we have the goalie, we have the heart, we have Youppi.

We're gonna win. Don't park downtown.

GO HABS GO!

Me too, I actually thought before the series started, that if we were going to win this series it would be in 6. I never thought for a second that this series would be stretched to the limit.

according to this,
http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=762465

8 people (including me) predicted Habs in 7. Few people predicted Habs in 6.

Only 1 person predicted Habs in 5 (cough natey2k4 cough)

Not in my wildest dreams. Habs are officially closing out round 1 when virtually every beat writer and fan thought we'd be the first one to get knocked out.

The Caps are better. They do not loose 3 in a row. They play at home. But this team rises to the occasion and finds a way to win it when it counts. They won during Markov's injury, they did it during the centennial, they made the playoffs despite facing their nemesis amidst a skid.

Character. Will. Sacrifice.

WIN!

Not me. I predicted Montreal in 5. ... It may have been true had the referee's not let Halak be ran all night in Game #2!

It's 2:20am where I am, and I have to be up at 6am. So yes, I'd say I'm having a little trouble sleeping.

If we would have won this series in 5 games. I personally would have put up the money to have a statue made in your honour Natey.

Haha, it's hard to believe -- but it's not that much of a stretch.

Halak is 3-2 in this series. He was playing amazing in Game #2 until he was continously ran over and let in a bunch of goals that he would rarely let in. It's really not as much of a stretch as you'd think.

LOL!! You are right.. If it was yahoo.com, I'd assume they were mostly searched out of Washington.. They are like, "Who is this guy and where did he come from?" lol

I'm really looking forward to tonight's game because Halak in this series has either shut the door or let a few softies in..

I hope the "shut the door" Halak plays like he did the last two games.. I must say that last game was by far the best performance I have seen by a goalie in Montreal in a little while and I was in awe all night by the way he made his saves!! No wonder Boudreau was shell shocked when asked why they can't seem to score on Halak.. lol!!!

Edit:

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/statistics/

Player SVPT
1. Brian Boucher, PHI .940
2. Craig Anderson, COL .933
3. Jaroslav Halak, MTL .931

Despite the 2nd and 3rd games, He has the 3rd best save percentage and it would be even better if he wasn't bulldozered in game 2...

Actually you're right, with a little luck we could have finished this in 5 games. The fact that you even thought we could considering how bad the boys played down the stretch is amazing. Or crazy, I still haven't figured that one out yet.

Between watching the final decisive game between the Habs vs. the Caps and studying for a final? The choice is obvious to me...

On a serious note, I always had trouble to understand why people stress that much during the finals period.. It's not too hard to take a 3 hours break from study to watch the Habs isn't it? You are certainly not going to fail an exam or go from an A to a B just because of that!

Advice to the students on this board: You are supposed to play the finals, don't let the finals play you.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the game.

Haha, I remember a few times when it felt like I was the only positive one on this forum at times. We finished the season poorly, I agree -- but I knew we had a team full of fighters. Taking this group of guys down is going to be very hard, especially when our goalie is playing out of his mind.

I really didn't think we could finish it in 5, but I did think we could win. I just wanted to be REALLY positive because I felt that everyone saying we would lose constantly to be a huge disappointment. I believe till the end and won't stop believing until we hold the Cup in June.

I just hope that this game does not go into OT for the sake of my own health

I'd rather a blow out loss than a loss in OT

But holy **** , if we win in OT
