as opposed to making near a million dollars a year and being a stud hockey player in the greatest city in the world? yeah tough decision...

I keep thinking this as well, but there's a big difference between leaving college to go sit in an office or to go play professionally. The benefits of playing pro hockey far outweigh the benefits of being big man on campus. Money, women, everything.

So since he stays in college he can't do the NYC thing in the future? Do both

If MCD stays we're looking at potentially all four of our potentially NHL-bound college prospects going pro the same year.

Hagelin
Stepan
McDonagh
Kreider

Pretty much makes next year Grachev's and Sanguinetti's make-or-break to make the roster years.

Grach is younger than 2 of those guys and was drafted the same year as Stepan.

Agree with you on Sangs though.

I just see it hard for so many rookie to make the NHL in one year.

McD is absolutely going to be NHL ready. Arguments could be made for Hagelin. We'll see how Kreider and Stepan do.

Maybe Grachev will have one more year in Hartford. But we'll likely have to expect Anisimov-esque 2nd year numbers for him to earn a top 9 spot the following year.

I still think this kid got overhyped bad.

One harms his development, the other doesn't that's why

Yeah ya, know, it must be so hard to be a professional hockey player making lots of money in New York City with all of those millions of "ugly" women all around.

Thankfully Kreider wasn't involved with this

Seven teens, including three Boston College hockey players, face underage drinking charges after crashing into a Green Line train around midnight Sunday.

Goalie Parker Milner, 19, was one of the teens who allegedly fled the scene. Nineteen-year-old defenseman Patrick Wey and 18-year-old defenseman Philip Samuelsson were also in the car.

The coaching departures are another blow to a team that loses seven seniors. Thatís not even counting the likely departure of Hobey Baker top-10 finalist Brendan Smith to the pros. Chances are fellow defenseman Cody Goloubef could leave, and although Ryan McDonagh was named sole team captain for the 2010-2011 season, itís not a guarantee heís staying.

I'll never understand American obsesion with underage dinking. In most states you can sooner kill people as a soldier than get a beer in a bar. Crazy country...

I think it was basically MADD (mothers against drunk driving) that managed to get the drinking age put up to 21 across the board. It used to be that states would set their own limits.

I *think* there are studies that showed this reduced teenage drunk driving but I'm not sure. In all it is pretty dumb when you consider you can vote and be drafted and all of that stuff before you can legally drink. I also tend to think that people party a little harder when it's illegal to do so, but that's just speculation

But, basically every single college student drinks before 21. It's only the really dumb ones that go driving drunk and crash into the city's light rail. So yeah they're basically idiots

States still can technically set their own drinking age. If they set it at less than 21, they'll receive 10% less federal highway funding. So everyone sets it at 21.

You raise the drinking age, you get a bunch of kids hitting college and overdoing it.

Exactly. I stopped drinking as much as I did once I TURNED 21.
