Bobo
Eriksson
Scrivens

Kinda hard though when all 3 played different leagues. Bobo gets first though since he played in a harder league.

so do you sign Turco while these guys get experience instead of giving up assets for guys like price or Schneider? I would if they can sign him to $3.5MM.

Turco is still good enough to carry a team with a d like the Flyers have now. Plus, his stickhandling could be a plus in Lavi's uptempo system.

I agree with this ranking.

Who knows how we handle the rest of this offseason?

All I know is when Holmgren sees a flaw/hole in our prospect pool/young core, he fixes it. And he does so effectively in ways many wouldn't suspect.

It's possible that he goes after a UFA without trading for a young goalie this offseason. If he doesn't see any move he likes, it's possible. He'll just sign and hope someone sticks.

I would not mind signing Scrivens. But some people get overly excited or estatic, remember Cornell plays a strong defensive system. Anyone remember David Mckee? he was a Cornell goalie 5-6 years ago. Put up some insane numbers. The guy spent time in the ECHL and AHL struggling to put up a .900 save percentage. He is currently in the CHL.
So I am keeping things in perspective for Scrivens.

Any news on Scrivens yet? It's been well over three weeks since his collegiate season ended and there's still no word on what's going on with him.

Bobrovsky, Rynnas, and Scrivens are all done with their seasons. It's bizarre, but maybe they're looking for the highest bidder. Or it could be that we're making up our minds, because we are the biggest player in the market so to speak.

So yeah, nothing yet, but who knows what's going on.

Dreger had tweeted that Scrivens was down to the Flyers and the Leafs.

I guess it depends who offers him the best chance at the NHL.

Hard to say, really. Do you take your chances with the Phantoms next year and then backing up whoever else we sign/acquire or go to Toronto Marlies for a year or two then backup the Monster when Giggy retires.

The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to beef up their goaltending.

The Leafs have signed college free agent Ben Scrivens to a one year, entry-level contract.

Scrivens, a native of Spruce Grove, Alberta, starred with Cornell and was a top 10 Hobey Baker finalist for college player of the year. He just finished his fourth season with the Big Red, compiling a 21-9-4 record and an impressive .934 save percentage.

Scrivens is expected to challenge for a spot with the Toronto Marlies next season.

Well done, Mr. Burke. First he gets The Monster, with Giggy as a stopgap, then he signs Rynnas and Scrivens.

Let's hope we do get Sergei Bobrovsky signed....

This is almost certainly a non-issue...but I don't get why Scrivens would sign into the logjam in Toronto willfully.

A bit puzzling to be certain. It might be a non-issue, but if, in the last year, Homer had signed Gustavsson, acquired Giggy while dumping salary, then added two good young prospects, we'd be overjoyed at our goaltending situation, wouldn't we?

Well, we weren't really in a position to get Giggy. Getting Gustavsson in the mix would have been quite nice, though. Hopefully we sign Bob, and it works out. Still think we need to concentrate on someone already with NHL success in the immediate, however.

He only signed a 1 year deal so he can walk next year. Did the flyers really show any true interest in the guy i wonder? Looking at both situation on the surface he would have a faster track to the nhl if he is as good as he thinks he is by siging witht he flyers. Leads me to belive they may have not shown that much interest and maybe value backlund higher and want to resign him.

He will be a RFA... won't be that easy to walk away.

He was an undrafted UFA now, but once you sign the ELC you become part of the system and all the normal RFA rules apply.

Didn't Homer utter an infamous line at last season's townhall that he had never heard of Gustavsson?

I would agree.

There is NO WAY an NHL GM didn't know who he was last offseason.
