It won't be easy. Probably won't be able to use the same game plan as we did against the Caps, so I hope Martin is up early tomorrow.

Anyway, I think I'll bask in the glow of victory for now and worry about the Pens come Friday.

Ugh! Its nice to have people from other fanbases congratulating us on beating the caps, its nice, thanks. But you don't need to come over and tell us we're gona lose to the Pens now. Unless you want a repeat of 1st round

Habs in 7, going to be very tight. We'll get to spend more time out of our zone, shoot more. Be less bombarded. We're also going to face a better defensive team. It will be interesting.

I watched every game of the both this series and the Ottawa series, and I firmly believe that if Ottawa had a better goalie (I'm not talking Halak-good, but at least better than Elliott), that they would have won that series.

The Pens looked very beatable.

Dear Habs,

Please beat Pittsburgh because we're so sick of watching the refs and the NHL bow down to their golden boy.

Signed, EVERYONE.

I agree, I would rather play the Pens actually right now than the Bruins or the Flyers.

Pens will take chances like the Capitals, and it plays into counter attack. Their D is not that great, and can be beaten.

I worry most about Halak being exhausted, Price might have to spell him for a game again.

We can easily take 1 of the first 2, and then its all on.

True story: In the past two playoffs (this year's and last's) the Habs and Pens have each won 3 games when facing elimination.

Anyone remembers 1998? I was 11 and I clearly remember the Canadiens (7th seed) defeating the Penguins (2nd seed) in 6 games!

Am I crazy to think that we have much more depth than the Pens?

I mean, yeah they have Crosby and Malkin that are well above every single one of our players but we have Cammalleri, Gomez, Gionta, A.Kostitsyn (when he's on, but I remember him having great games against Fleury), Pouliot (I'm pretty sure they don't even know who he is) etc. etc.. with the 3rd line playing so well, I seriously think we're deeper. Dunno if I'm wrong tho...

One guy that scares me aside from the big two... Ponikarovsky. I think its because of all those Toronto games we lost due to him and Antropov back in the days.

We should watch the tapes for WAS-MTL, just to see what the hell did we do, then apply it to the PENS-MTL

Are you guys going to be as whiny, conspiracy-happy and irritating as Sens/Flyers/Wings fans?

Whoa hey now buddy!

I actually was hoping the Habs would win against the Caps, but now all bets are off.

PS The officiating in the Sens series was no worse than any other. There were 2 diving non-calls in one game, but that does not equal the whole series.

Welcome to the Crosby show!!!

Seriously, Pittsburgh may not have the offense of Washington but they are a more complete team. Washington's points were mostly coming form the South Division which is really weak.

Let's face it, Halak was sensational the last 3 games. HALAK, HALAK, HALAK!!! It's looking lonely for Price. Please don't trade him.

The Habs need to step up their game against the Pens. The Pens are a better team. Halak is earning a contract and will hit the jackpot. Plekanec's value increased here too. The organization has some decisions to do. It is a necessity to bolster up the defense and the team needs a sniper. The likes of Hammer, Mara will not return. MAB and Spacek need to go too. The offense is not great either. Pouliot, AK are disappointing.

I hope its TSN just to further emphasize the epic fail of choosing the Sens who I thought going in were the worst team in the east in the playoffs and 2nd worst overall ahead of only Colorado.

The Caps also dominated the Atlantic division you know. The myth of them racking up points against the SE fails at every statistical analysis you can think of. We should beat Pittsburgh.

Special teams will be key. I do have the impression that we match better against the Pens @ 5 on 5, but the powerplay and the PK must continue their excellent work.

Of course Halak has to be solid, but watch out for those rebounds, pens are hungry for the puck.

I'm going to go ahead and say it:

I am MORE optimistic about the Habs winning this series than I was about them beating Washington.

I realize the Pens are defending champs... but I watched the majority of the first round Pens/Sens series. The Senators, who had some big injuries up front, gave the Pens fits at times in the series. If the Sens were healthy and got a few bounces their way... who knows what could have happened.

After seeing the Habs shut down Ovechkin and Backstrom in the last 3 games, has to lend a bit of confidence to the idea of doing the same to Crosby/Malkin. Crosby is an incredible player, but containing him is not an impossible task. He was a total non-factor in the finals last year.

If our defense and special teams are HALF as good as they were in games 5,6, and 7 than I think we have a real shot.

Oh and there's that Halak guy too.

Either way, it's all gravy from here. Hopefully they use this idea to their advantage and play loose.
