Is this the year... a whole lot of people eat crow?

Halak, Moore, BG's aquisitions, the Habs as a whole...
lol I was either going to bump this thread...or the Domenic Moore Appreciation thread, there's some gems in that one too

Totally worth the price he came at. I'm not going to forget Moore's goal in final minutes of the game for a long time.

For anyone wanting me to eat crow, it's delicious. GWG in one of the biggest game 7's in NHL history, amazing. Atta boy Dominic, I'm proud you're a Hab.

Edit: To be fair (aka. to defend my reputation, whatever it's worth), I remember saying that I would be prepared to eat crow if he proved me wrong. I know that in sports, even when it seems impossible, things can happen in funny ways. He proved me wrong, damn right, as did the rest of the team. I believed in them the whole way, but I can't say I expected it. What a great moment for the Canadiens, and for all of us as fans. Moore and the rest of the Habs showed us why we never fail to cheer for Nos Glorieux. Just awesome.

I'm glad that I defended this trade back when it was made.

I basically said that if we made the playoffs and/or resigned Moore, it's a good deal for us. Moore's goal tonight just puts it way over the top.

rebrief me if you will, was that not gauthier's first move as a GM? (exlcuding some silly hamilton callup).

if so, that was the most under the radar clutch first move i've heard of.

Agreed, that was one of the first things my dad and I talked about after the game. Gainey deserves a ton of credit, as he built this team in the long term. Gauthier deserves an equally large amount of credit, as the moves that he made in the short time he was in the GM position turned out to be essential to the Habs beating the Capitals. Both guys need to be given all the credit in the world, no matter what you think of them. From me, here`s a large thank you to Gainey and Gauthier for putting together this team that has made us feel every emotion imaginable when it comes to sports.

i won't go too nuts, cause it's not like goats could have guessed he would pay this kind of dividend at such a crucial time, but i'm just happy for him that it ended up being a success (luck envolved), without taking away from whatever foresight he had in what drove him to pull the trigger.

i think this has mostly to do with first impressions!
