I am sorry, but that info has very little value. Sure he is looking for the job. Whether he ends up in KHL depends on interest here. If Mike Keenan, for instance, gets HC job, he can get a good contact in NHL. There are 4 HC openings as of now.
I can't see Joker seriously contemplating heading over to the KHL - he'll probably want to retire closer to home with the next contract he picks up. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in Florida.
That didn't really make sense but I miss making Seinfeld references in the GDT.
Anyway, not surprised if this happens. Been expecting it since the last 5~ games of the season. He's clearly lost his talent in all forms, and if he wants to stay in the NHL, he'll be raking in like $2M a year. Major paycut.
I think the better question is : Is He Worth Bringing Back For A Smaller Contract. Assuming he agrees,etc,etc...
He had good moments here in New York. People had mixed reviews about the guy..... I don't think he performed to fans expectations....4 goals in 26 Games, with a 5 Mil Contract...
Then again, It wasn't a "great" season....we got other players who underperformed....But Were Not Quick To Usher Them Out The Door.....
Here is the un-edited english version of the text:
Jokinen is looking for work in the KHL
Striker Olympic Team Finland Olli Jokinen is considering moving to the KHL. This season, a 31-year-old hockey player ends the contract with the Rangers.
New York Rangers club is not going to extend a contract with Jokinen, who's salary is $ 5.5 million.
Therefore Olli Jokine has focused on Russia.
Reminds you of anything??? *Cough* JAGR....

No, no no no. After watching this guy play here I don't know how he has had much success in the NHL at all. He has a fat zero for hockey IQ.
The reason the other underachievers aren't being ushered out is because either:
1.) They're young and developing.
2.) They aren't getting five million dollars.
3.) They are getting five million dollars or more, but are locked in to a contract and have little to no value at that price on the trade market.
Unless it was for some stupidly small sum, I see zero reason to even consider bringing him back, and even then I'm not sure he would be worth it.

Skellator dug his own grave with his lack-luster play, and it wasn't just in NY. Some team will give him a 1 year deal, but unlike NY, Calgary was smart enough to dump this tool prior to owing him 5+ mil, unlike NY who lets their sub-par players wear a C and hang on to all the deadwood contracts they dish out.

I wasn't quite reffering to our young core..... Obviously that's understandable.
They key point you made was the contracts....and the "no waive" clause. Players feel protected when they've got as a part of the contract.
It makes it harder to get rid of useless players...
I think this organization should really stop accepting "below average players".....I think that will solve a lot of the problems we have with the team.
Basically shut the door...So to speak. Maybe implement higher standards for new additions for the team. Other teams get decent guys to play for their teams and we get the garbage.
And try to make something out of nothing...Which we all know doesn't work.
