FWIW, Slovakia did beat Russia at the Olympics, but it was Canada who eliminated Russia.

I wasn't flaming you, man. It was a goof. I was joking around. Sheesh, I figured someone who used a Confucious quote on a hockey site would have a sense of humor.

Didn't Halak also beat Ovechkin at the World Under 18's as well?

Edit: He sure did! Slovakia beat Russia with Ovechkin and Malkin 2-1. That's where he made himself a name with habs scouts.

Crosby > Ovi

JM may be able to pull out a plan to help contain Crosby but we are not going to shut him down and make him a non factor in any of the games like the beat down we put on Ovi.

1 Crosby is just a classier guy, some may think that means nothing but it means something amongst the players. Not saying we will not do what we need to do but I sure hope there will be no Booing of Crosby by our fans....he is Kid Canada after all

2 You double team Crosby and he will find the guy you left open, every time so that’s where JM comes in and who's job it is to cover him could play a bigger role in this series then Halack

3 The talent and depth of the Pens is more then the Caps. They have a good leadership core and the Goaltending for the Pens is better.

What we have,

We have a solid team, the names we have are not unknown to hockey and we a few players that may not be as highly coveted at forward as the Pens but can be game breakers just the same.

We have momentum, coming off one of the biggest upsets in NHL history while adding a goaltending/shot blocking performance that will be historic as well adds something.

We have the ghost that come from the form, this team is playing with something added and we all know it’s not the Refs

Optimism is great on these boards. I just hate the fact that I am a realist.

I don't think Lapierre will affect Crosby much since that time he "speared" him, in 2007. The kid has grown and has won quite a few things since then. He probably got used to deal with big mouths and abuse in three years.

On the other hand, I feel confident about our team. Pitsburg has Crosby, Malkin, Staal. An ordinary goalie (so far anyway) and an OK defense.

We have Gomez, Cammy, AKost, Gionta, Plekanec, a hot goalie and a defense that is a little better than theirs IMO.

I think Habs match up pretty good against Pens, on paper anyway.
On the ice, Pens seems to have knack for winning but hey, we beat the Caps so anything can happen :-)
