Due to the flooding and water damage in downtown Nashville, Bridgestone Arena and the Nashville Predators team offices are closed with no functioning communication system in place (email/phone).

We expect to be operational soon and will keep you posted.

Thank you for your support.

I'm hearing rumors that the country HOF and Ryman Auditorium are a total loss, can anyone confirm?

EDIT: Confirmed myself. Water damage but not total losses.

I've got no info other than what I've read and heard about online and through some texts.

It's so surreal to look at all the pictures and videos knowing that when I left Thursday, I was just expecting to stay ahead of a few days of rain...I had no idea whatsoever that this was going to happen and have been shocked and amazed at the state of devastation.

My thoughts are definitely with everyone dealing with the aftermath of this storm on a daily basis.

I heard power was out on Lower Broadway and may not be back for a few days. Does this include the arena?

I was in the Ryman today ... I think you're confusing the Ryman with the Grand Ole Opry ... that thing is waterlogged

Wow, I totally did not consider the fact that many are without flood insurance . I will give what I can and encourage others.

The Hands On Nashville website crashed today from all of the people responding to a call for volunteers for a new project. It's great to see how many people are reaching out to help others, not that it's a surprise in this city.

If anyone is interested it's very easy to sign up and they just email you the opportunities and you sign up online. Very user friendly. The only tough part is signing up for something before it fills up, but there will be plenty (too many...) opportunities in the coming weeks.

I remember checking into flood insurance about 10 years ago, so this is based on memory.

I checked into it because we back up to the Harpeth River. Our house is not in the 100 year flood plain. To get flood insurance without being in the flood plain is extremely cost prohibitive and hard to get.

So, most people won't have it. So many of the areas that flooded aren't even in the 100 year flood plain.

And most insurance companies will NOT cover water that bubbles up into your house for any reason whatsoever..........(We know this from past experience)
At our house there was a river running under the house and being forced out wherever there was a crack in the foundation whatsoever. We have an extensive sump pump plan under the house and it caught most of it. (but you have to have electricity) However a crack by the garage poured water down the driveway like a river.
It is this kind of water pressure from water saturated ground that flooded the Bridge.

So I would guess that 98% of homeowners will not have any insurance coverage whatsoever. just guessing.

I don't know anything about insurance in the commercial sector. (like the Preds)

So

What warms my heart and makes me so proud of you. The National Guard has not be activated. Why? Zero looting. They have been transporting people out of the area, but no guns.
