Exactly. I think it would be best for all parties involved.

He did a hell of a lot more than Hartnell's done.

Well, the sense that he's getting his hitting game going is a good first step to getting his confidence and scoring touch back.

Hartnell is trying his butt off and I give him credit for that. He's leaving it all on the ice.

Really, the whole team is playing well, but we just need a bit more scoring and bit more D and goaltending.

I think it's possible that we can win our home games and take it back to Boston tied at 2.

We'll see if last change and the home crowd will be enough to push us over the top.

Why not Riely Cote?

Hartnell is a shell of his former self. He's not hitting, he's not scoring, he's not causing any trouble and he's not drawing penalties. All he's doing right now is missing chances, taking a huge amount of dumb penalties and killing whoever is unfortunate enough to be put on his line.

He's utterly hopeless and his presence is actually getting to the point where he'd be more use by not being on the ice. Give his spot to Leino, at least he's looking like making a difference.

As much as i've liked him in the past, he's currently the first one on the trade block. Let's do it while he still has some semblance of trade value left.
Lenio is in for Gagne. I am wondering why Riely Cote can't crack the line up? Is he punch drunk or injured in some other way? I've been patient with Hartnell, hoping and expecting him to have a game at some point. Instead, the downward spiral continues. Trade value be damned...give Ross or Laliberte his minutes...at least they"ll play with some passion.

Cote could very well be in for Ross.

Though I'd like to see what Kalinski has to offer.

Did you really just ask why Cote can't crack the lineup? Are you on crack? He is beyond garbage.
Hartnell plays with passion, he just sucks. He tries his hardest, but his hardest is absolutely horrible. I give the guy credit for trying and skating his ass off..but besides that, he sucks. Plain and simple.

Also, good luck getting someone to take on Hartnell's contract..and have him waive his NMC (or NTC whatever he has). Pure pipe dream.

Whenever I am fed up with Hartnell I watch these vids, and then I seem to forgive everything he has done.

On a more serious note. I think his decline in production can be directly credited to the lack of glove infractions committed this season.

If you haven't seen Ryan Parent enjoy's laughing at Hartnell's stupidity too...

Because Cote is totally awful and brings nothing of value to the team. The only thing he 'can do' is fight and he's not even that good at it.

I'm not sure if Cote could crack a high school line up, let alone a NHL team in the playoffs.

Ridiculous. Cote would be the best player on everybody here's high school teams right now, and by a lot. If not on talent, then because he's had the benefit of professional level coaching for years.

They have actually scored two goals with Hartnell in front of the net (Giroux vs. Debbies in game 5 and Richards vs. Bruins in game 1)... I think he actually assisted on both of those. Those are about the only two times I can remember him doing something useful. He just appears to be the most snake-bitten player on the planet. He needs to get in front of the net and keep screening and hacking and causing some havoc and something will bounce in off him.

First thing I think he needs a fresh start and cut that damn hair off at least. Gotta change something up and try to get something going. Something to tell himself that he is not the same guy who has been terrible and cursed for the whole season... gotta try something new.
