without a doubt, hes the most talented russian after kabanov but without the "issues". he extremely dangerous.

imo, and its only an opinion, he can step right from russia to the nhl in 2 years.

hes that good. no doubt.
I dunno. I haven't seen any KHL games to evaluate his talent nor can I really assess 20 Goals in 80 games in that league in two years without being able to watch it.

I've seen that his father wants him to stay in Russia for a time and there's no transfer agreement in place. I don't want to see a #10 wasted on another Radulov.

Agreed. I think if the big three and Forbort are gone, then Tinordi becomes a good candidate for a "wow really!" Type pick at eleven. I was looking forward to sparking that discussion!

You're probably right. I sure as heck hope so. Whatever GM makes that move can chalk another one in the "Whoops!" column. I love seeing teams make big blunders.

"We just wasted our top 15-20 first rounder on a future third-pairing hitter who nightcaps as a goon."

Oopsies.

If he's a top 5 talent why would you trade down from 10 and hope to still get him?

It's a gamble that the Russian-effect might cause him to fall a bit. That's probably what he's trying to get at.

Because he's Russian, and other NHL teams are a lot more scared of Russians than we are?

Pretty much said right there.

Tarasenko is a top 5 talent who will drop to us if we are lucky.

Fair enough. But I guess my point is if you are certain he is a top 5 talent why wouldn't you be thrilled to get him at 10 as opposed to risking the possibility that some other team trades up or otherwise selects him at 11 to 14?

I don't see anyone behind us who will take a Russian in that range.

gardenfaithful44 is up with the Anaheim Ducks, it has been over 24 hours and he has 2 of the next 5 picks.

Who do the Ducks take?

Forwards

Skinner
Watson
Granlund
Howden
Etem

Dmen

Merrill
Pysyk
Tinordi
McIlrath

I would imagine they pick a guy from each group with their 2 picks?

I would go Merrill knowing a real good F gets to them at 16.

Merrill seconded.

I would take Merrill over Gormley

I think if we're going to hijack his pick than it's an easy decision:
Dylan Mcilrath.

'Yotes, eh? Hrm. Definitely need help up front - considered Granlund, but he's too small on a small-ish team already.

Phoenix selects Jeff Skinner from the Kitchener Rangers (OHL).

Giddyup indeed. With the 14th pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, the St. Louis Blues select ...

... out of the Finish SM-liiga, Mikael Granlund, center for HIFK.

Skinner and Granlund are around the same size.

Height, yes. Skinner's got 20 pounds on Granlund, though. I chose Skinner because he's more of a goal scorer than a playmaker. Granlund wouldn't have been a bad choice, either, though.

Not sure about that...but the Canadiens are on the clock and have about 30 minutes to get to the podium.
