Jack was really the only choice for captain, congrats.

Hell yes. Anything that continues to build JJ's confidence is awesome by me.

I think with more hard work this offseason, he's due for a big breakout next year. and Greene just quietly goes about being a badass, solid shutdown D. Love it.

Jack seems to thrive with a big workload. He's played a lot of hockey this season, at the Olympics and now at the IIHF. He's developing nicely.

Ugh yes & Slightly Stoopid and The Expendables & Steel Pulse. I love it all.

If you haven't listened to Nada Rasta before, you should. A good local band here that is going to get big soon.

Yep, I'm old. I don't recognize single band that you've mentioned.

Thanks, Z-rap.

He thrives playing in big games, which is awesome. I want him to be at his best for the playoffs or world tourneys.

However I would like to see him keep that attitude for the regular season. He wasn't bad this season, but watching his game just take off to a new level for the Olympics and the playoffs kind of pisses me off. As if he doesn't care as much or try as hard unless there is a medal or cup within sight.

Oh well, he'll learn.

Just wondering...if the choice for kings captain were down to DD or JJ, whom do you vote for?

Why would Drewiske be up for Captain?

If they were both signed long term, I would think that Jack would make a better captain. Doughty seems too laid back (like Dustin and we see how much greif he gets around here), but who knows, Lidstrom is captain and Detroit seemed fine (until this season).

I pick DD every time over JJ for captain. He may be laid back and have fun, but he also bears down when he has to and isn't afraid to make himself heard, which you can't really say for Brown for most of his career.

Its not accurate to compare Brown and DD in this way because DD is a bit of a goofball. Brown is not a goofball and is a quiet leader. If he was captain, I would bet Doughty would be anything but quiet.

Yeah, he'd be noisy as hell chompin' down on dozen donuts and slurping his cup of coffee filled with cream.

Again, he's too fat. If I saw his current body in the locker rooms, I'd have hard time respecting that tub of lard.

And I love DD as well as donuts.

I think the end of this season and the postseason was the beginning of the breakout. He was near Doughty level in some stretches.

I'll try and get this thread back on-topic.....

Universal sports is showing the USA games and some others. Do you have that channel? If not, there will streams online of the games as there usually is. You can also purchase the games on universalsports.com.

Quote:
All of the televised games will also be available online on a pay-per-view basis at UniversalSports.com. Prices will range from $0.99 for individual non-medal-round games to $1.99 for the bronze-medal and gold-medal games and $14.99 for the all-access pass.
Here's some more info: http://www.usahockey.com/Template_Us...1_03&id=286514

I don't believe it's available on DirecTV. They have a channel finder here: http://www.universalsports.com/ice-hockey/index.html
