Rank The Following Shots.

From most to least important, rank the snap shot, wrist, slap, backhand and one-timer based on the amount of goals scored with it.
I've felt the snap shot was the most important for a while now, so I wanted to see the thoughts out there.

My own rankings:

1) Snap shot
2) Wrist Shot
3/4) Tie- Backhand and one-timer
5) Slap shot

If we're ranking them for ourselves, then:

1) Wrist shot
2) Snap Shot
3/4/5) Tie- Backhand, one-timer & Slapshot (Rarely use any of these, actually.)

1. Snap
2. Back
3. Wrist
4. Slap

I score on long wristers about 1/3 of the time (hashmarks and out). The other 2/3 of my goals come from the bottom of the circles and in; all around the net. Snap/Back is practically 50/50. I have a really quick release on both. Occasionally I'm down low on a rush beating a goalie one-on-one, but more often I'm picking up rebounds, deflections and passes out of the corners.

Come to think of it, I rarely score on a straight wrist shot. I score as many straight one-timers and backhanders as wrist shots. Rebounds aren't wrist shots

1) Wrist shot

3) Slapshot
4) One Timer
5) Backhander

I play defense sooooo ...... that is why the order there. The men's league doesn't allow slapshots and people get mad when I shoot them at shinny so I do not any longer. The pickup guys I play with asked me not to take slapshots either and only let me on a breakaway

Is a onetimer a distinct type of shot? Surely it's just a slapper direct from a pass?

You can snap, backhand or wrist a one-timer as well. But no, I don't think of it as a distinct shot. You can't say you rely on your one-timer unless you always have someone setting you up.

This is what I get for using 'new posts,' not the list of topics

For me:
1.Snap
2.Wrist
3.Backhand
4.One-Timer
5.Slap

I usually am the one passing even though I'm a winger. I use my Snap shot the most because its easier to set up for a fake-shot-into-a-pass play. Wrist shots are easy and smart when you use the D-man as a screen. Also is very easy to pass with if the guy gets his stick in the way.

My backhand I use a lot because I collect a ton of rebounds when my teammates shoot. Very good at getting it high very quickly. One-timers I don't use often because my linemates do most of the shooting and are very awful in passing(pass to where you've been not where you'll be). They do have very hard and lethal shots(Knocked a guy out before). I have no speed on my slap shots and have an improving swing(Thanks to HFBOARDS).
