They were throwing around an idea on TSN earlier this year that coaches should be allowed 1 "challenge" per game like the CFL or NFL has.

Basically, the coach can challenge anything. A bad penalty, a bad goal that otherwise isn't allowed to be reviewed, whatever. Obviously, there should be some form of punishment for the challenge being wrong (lose your time out, or even more severe maybe a delay of game penalty), but I'd like to see this tried out. Maybe attempt it in preseason to see how it works.

The way the officiating has been they may want to go after 6 challenges per game.

LOL. Funny you mention that. The wife and I planted some tomato plants, strawberry, and some flowers on our patio last weekend. Of course, now they are all dead thanks to the cold, snow, and wind the past four days. Calgary sucks. I'd move back to Vancouver but the cost of living is too much.

Sounds to me like the Canucks are applying pressure quietly on the officials in charge of the series. We didn't call them out in the media, so they weren't afraid to admit their mistake. Hopefully Lu will get more benefit of the doubt tonight.

Or, on the flipside, the refs do tighten up but in anticipation the Hawks were told already to be smarter about it, meanwhile we all of a sudden think we can run Niemi. That'd suck.

Good stuff. While we all enjoy the warm summer weather for 5 months, you can remain blissful in your ignorance in the hole that is PG.

Anyways, as someone else mentioned, The Canucks will probably now have it in their heads that they can run the goalie and will be taking goalie interference penalties tonight.

If they lose tonight, they should spend game five running Niemi as hard as possible. Even if the referees call every one as a major penalty, we'd have fourty runs at him before they could eject players.

I'm sick of one rule for certain teams and a very different one for others. It's time to send a message.

I don't really pay any attention to the far north hinterland, except to avoid going there. Besides why would anyone care what the locals refer to their community as. They're both dumps. BTW, anyone living in Edmontion or Prince George shouldn't be dissing anyone's weather except maybe the Arctic.
