Wooden to Composite

When did most players start to switch, who were the firsts, and when was it?

First came aluminum shafts. Which were first approved for NHL use in 1981, but as far as I can remember no one of consequence really used them until Gretzky made the switch in 1990.

1995 saw the first composite blades. From there came the composite shafts; then eventually the composite one piece.
