Well, after taking a few swings at the fences, Tampa's gonna step back and make a bit safer, low risk/low reward pick. There's only one guy left from the CHL top prospects game so...

With the 119th overall pick the Tampa Bay Lightning are pleased to still have the chance to pick Louis-Marc Aubry of the QMJHL's Montreal Juniors.

"First of all, we hear he plays for the junior team in Ohashi_Jouzu's favourite Canadian city, and wears the same jersey number. That would be enough for us, but we also think we are getting a smart player who is solid in all three zones and still improving. Although more of a playmaker, he loves getting to the front of the net to tip pucks and get rebounds. He has worked hard to put on some weight and get stronger since last season, so we're very happy with the attitude and physical tools that come along with these skills."

My "short list" is still pretty long. Really hope we push this to 7 rounds.

A bit too soon IMO, I had him pegged as a late 6th rounder/early 7th.

Yeah, well, that's Tampa Bay's last pick if this only goes 5 rounds (no 5th rounder), so... it was either him or hometown boy Corbeil-Theriault. If I knew it would go 6 or 7 rounds for sure, I wouldn't have chosen either in the 4th round.

I'm confused. You had no one else rated above him?

Ok, now I'm really nervous. 3 more picks before mine and I'm extremely high on the next 2 guys on my list.

*fingers crossed*

I actually have at least 7 targets that I would definitely "rate" higher than him, and about a dozen that I'd lump in the same ball park. But it's my last pick (as it stands), so I decided to make a "shout out" to Montreal or Halifax pick. If the 6th round is added, I'm fully confident that at least 1 of those 7 will still be there. Also note, I'm not using the BPA approach at all. Certain centres and offensive defensemen automatically "rank" higher than anyone within any group that I consider to be of roughly equal talent level.

I use the BPA approach but rate 2-way Dmen and 2-way/hard working forwards higher.

That's the one thing that I tried to find in all my centres, even the "offensive" ones. That, and a right-handed shot if possible.

We need to get this thing going.

As long as you're not on the clock within the next 5 picks, you can go ahead and pick for them.
Well, since I got all of 1-hour notice for my 1st pick and my pick was given away, I figured I wasn't really a part of this anymore. Especially with Habsfan18 offering the team to HomraidII if I didn't participate.

I'm sorry, but I can't always make a pick with 1-hour of notice. Unfortunately, Watsatheo, I'm not Batman and I guess that proves it.

I made a post about it in the last thread and was never replied too, so I figured I had been replaced and didn't bother checking the thread. I finished that message off with "Good luck and have fun," which I figured was painting a pretty clear picture that HomraidII could continue, since he made my most important selection at that point.

I also didn't want to make a selection today when I got the PM in case the team had been given to HomraidII, which was my belief.

No hard feelings, and I'm sorry you guys had to wait. Didn't mean for that to happen.

I was under the impression that you were still participating Natey. Guess there was just a misunderstanding.

Washington is still on the clock.

How much longer before we vote on the BPA? It's been over 12 hours. He was online yesterday, be responsible and check out if you're picking soon FFS.

I say Freddie Hamilton.

There's no point in giving away players to teams. Skip him.

Oh by the way, can we get the extra 2 rounds stuff straightened out?

I just remembered I have this massive....y'know...for this guy, and I really would love to pick him in the 7th.

He was fairly high on my list for a 4th round selection so I second that pick.
