Carolina should have success on the AHL level for the next couple of years, the rookies this year and even the guys showing up at the end of the season are very good. I was told that many of the prospects/draft picks were traded for the 2006 cup run. The Albany teams have been decent, but stocked more AHL vets and free agents than true prospects.... until this season.

It can change, but the organization right now is deep. It's kind of sad to see them go.

But to be fair the Rats backed in the playoffs in 07 with Bridgeport's collapse, and didn't have much of a team left in 08 with call-ups and injuries. The players who were here played hard, but the teams themselves didn't pose much of a threat.... hopefully that changes this year.

Remember our last 7 years with the Devils, we never even came close to making the playoffs - so to make them 3 years out of 4 with Carolina is positively dominant...

Dominant?

Sure, it's better, but I'd hardly call losing in the first round the 2 times they made the playoffs (we'll see how they do this year) dominant.

Fans see other teams buying wins and want their owner to do so to, but those teams have fans in the seats as well. Teams that don't draw well can't buy wins. Their best hope is for a great new rookie spending a year in the minors before being called up to the show.
