Let's say the Sharks end up coming up huge and winning something that is big and silver, do you guys still hope Blake passes it to Marleau first?
I remember when Blake was first made captain at the beginning of the season, people were speculating about this and wishing Marleau would get it first.
Do you think Blake would have the class to do that?
Considering we have no Roenick-type player on the roster (future well-known hall-of-famer who never got the cup), I'd be surprised if he didn't.
And can we please try to limit the OMGZ BURN THIS THREAD responses?
Hahah, that's why I tried to keep it vague without mentioning anything specific. I hope people don't think this thread was made for any other purpose than curiosity.
I'm actually rooting for the Sharks from here on out though.

How about let's be curious about it if we actually make the Finals.
I'd like to see him hand it to Jumbo. Because, if he does, it mean's Jumbo lead this team to the cup letter or not. Seeing Jumbo Joe hoisting Stanley first would be just about the sweetest victory I can imagine.
Plus, of course, MASSIVE 'in your face' potential to hold over the entirety of hfboards for years to come.
I don't mind seeing Blake raise it first. He's the elder statesman, and he probably won't be back next year if we win it.
Then, it would be pretty classy to give it to Marleau first...he's the guy that's been with the franchise the longest. I don't think Blake needs to defer to him, but it would be nice to see Patty raise it up second.
THEN...I think it has to be either Nabby or Jumbo. From then on, it doesn't matter. Basically, there isn't a Jeremy Roenick/Ray Bourque type player on the team, but I think years in teal (Marleau, Nabby) should matter, followed by leadership/scoring (Jumbo, Boyle, Pavs, Heatley).
Note*, I think Heatley should get it before Boyler...Heatley's been to the finals and lost. Boyle's already raised it.

...If they clinched on the road in Beantown...that would be the IYF moment of the century.
If Roenick was still on this team, would there seriously even be a debate?
If we do win, he's going to be devastated
Lotsa good players still don't win the cup, mats sundin comes to mind but there are others. I think he's got enough buddies on the team that he wont be devastated, a part of him will be saying "I could have done another year"...But I think really he couldn't do another year after that shoulder injury last year. That really brought him back to reality when it comes to his age.
Seeing seto and others that he mentored winning it should be a very happy moment for him even if he's not on the team.
I was thinking about posting this same topic but thought i would wait til at least we made the finals glad you did first
The way i would like to see it: Blake (doesnt even raise it, just passes it straight face)-Nabby-Marleau-Thornton
The way it'll most likely go down: Blake-Thornton(crying for 10 min)-Marleau(crying for 5 min)-Nabby(eh, its just another win)
Doesn't even raise it? Blakey hasn't had the cup in awhile he's gonna raise that **** and kiss it. Marleau will DEFINITELY cry more than thornton, something about him makes me think he's a cryer.
Nabby wants that cup more than anyone, he'll take that **** and run away to russia and never come back hahah. I think he's going to show some emotion for sure, maybe not as much as thornton or marleau though.
we'll burn that bridge when we get to it. There's still another series to get through first, and until then there's no use worrying about things beyond the Hawks.
