Absolutely PATHETIC. We get absolutely no pressure at all in their end, don't even test arguably the worst goalie in the NHL, and allow them to get traffic with ease. That was a sad, sad performance.
Thats actually a very good point. You are better to be blown with that type of effort than get a false perception that you actually played well because it was a close game.

We will see how the veterans respond. A guy like Gomez was putrid and showed zero leadership tonight and was actually one of the biggest culprits for the out right FAIL of this game. He isn't the only one but not only was he playing poorly, he piled it on with undisciplined penalties.

JM's in game adjustments were non existent. I have a feeling he will be outcoached in this series. Mr -10 continues to rack up the ice time. No one else is even close to being on the ice for as many 5 on 5 goals.

The thing I hate about this team is how we have the ability to make other goaltenders look absolutely fantastic. Leighton gets the shutout and he didn't even have to break a sweat. We need to make him work for every single save.

A few notes:

-Pouliot and AK46 looked pretty good this game. But, the thing is it's easy to perform when your down by 6, i want them to give the same effort when were down by one or tied during a crucial period.
-Halak can't be blamed for the loss. All shots we screens and he had no chance on any of them. Obyrne needs to be back in the lineup since MAB can't clear the crease for s****, and we are missing physical presence on the back end.
-Subban had a tough night but so did the rest of the team. You can't expect a rookie, if you can even call him that, to be the saviour every night.
-Gomez needs to stop taking penalties because every time he takes one, i know he's off his game and that's just great for the opposition. He needs to stay concentrated and focus on the game plan.

The team needs to rebound in Game 2 without a doubt. Going down 0-2 in the series will be a hard hole to get ourselves out of. We can compete against Philli, we just need to work as hard as we did against the PEns and Caps. I know that Halak will rebound, and so will other such as Cam, Gomez, Plek and Subban.

I STILL believe.

See, the problem is people on here took Philly way too lightly. They destroyed The Devils in 5 games then won 4 straight against Boston. They were also in every single game they lost against Boston. Philly is a complete team that plays physical and has a LOT of confidence.

They went back to basics against the Habs...

a) strong forecheck
b) physical play against the small forwards
c) crash the net

That's how you beat the Habs.

I had predicted Philly in 5 but I'm changing it to Philly in 4. Still proud of the team and what they have accomplished though.

It was an abomination.
A lot worse than game 1 in Pittsburgh.
Leighton probably got his easiest shutout of his career.

I just couldn't understand why we were playing dump and chase against the Flyers. zone entry HORRIBLE. Execution even worse. PK tried hard...too hard, but it'll serve him well.

POWER PLAY MUST SCORE!!!!

I've learned anything is possible. 2-1 or 6-0, doesn't matter, game 2 new game, but we need more of a system change than ever before. JM has to do something.

*Cammy just erred, saying we lost both game ones even though he was on the ice for the OT Tomas Jagr goal...weird*

We'll bounce back, but man oh man we gotta change stuff.

faccck: Idesk says Carter coming back

Gomez: "We could do some little things better"

... seriously, little things?! You can start by playing hockey!

Edit: Decided I will be more respectable even if I want to smack him still.

Hartley is being positive: better lose 6-0 and start working on what needs to be done than lose 2-1 in OT despite playing well.

How many legit scoring chances did the Habs have tonight? What were the scoring chances for both teams?

The thing is that in the playoffs you cant really go full depressed mode after being blown out, you cant get too low or too high on yourself, so I think the team right now as we speak is trying to forget this game and think about the next one.

Wasn't the best night for Gomez neither the whole team that's for sure.

Don Cherry said the exact same thing so he probably just copied what he said.

I still don't remember why MAB is playing. when was his last goal? Given OB was out, MAB hassss to score or we're just asking for it. His shot has not been useful at all in the playoffs except game 7 of round 1.

From a mile away actually.. We will see what this Habs team is made of in game 2.. Will they rebound and come out fighting hard or will they fold like a cheap tent? After this embarrassment they shouldn't need anything to motivate them that's for sure..
