I see some people talking about Hossa and his back to back loses in cup finals with different teams--Propp did it and lost in 3 other finals.

What other players in that last 20 years have been to the cup final multiple times and never got to drink from the cup by the end of their career?

I was not a propp fan--but I had no idea he had been to 5 finals and lost them all.

Propp is the the highest scoring LW in playoff history.

Lost once to the Isles dynasty, three times to the Oilers dynasty, and once to Mario and the Pens.

Warrener comes to mind having lost with Florida, Buffalo, and Calgary

You wonder how different the legacy of a guy like Propp would be had he broken through once or twice.

Horatio Caine says it definitely would have "propped" up his legacy.

Toni Lydman has lost in the finals of the Stanley Cup (with Calgary, 2004), the Olympics (Finland, 2006), World Cup (Finland, 2004) and the Word Championships (Finland, 1998 & 1999).

Not the NHL, but Gale Gilbert lost 5 consecutive Super Bowls (4 in Buffalo, then 1 in San Diego). Granted, he never saw the field in those games as the 3rd string QB...

That post would have so much more awesome if you had posted the Horatio cartoon. But still, for the idea, I give you Propps!

Martin Gelinas won it in his rookie year with the Oil, but returned 3 more times with the Nucks, Canes and Flames, losing all three times (he might have been there with the Panthers, too)

Ty Conklin (EDM 06, PIT 08, DET 09) has been three times and lost all three.

Ironically "Propp" means "Plug" or "Stopper" in Swedish

I can't believe Hossa hasn't been mentioned. he has a chance to play 3 consecutive seasons with 3 different teams and lose in the finals 3 teams. The odds of that happening in a 30 team league have to be astronomical.
