How about Vokoun and our 1st for something serious in return..

Exactly what I was thinking. If were going to trade, we might as well make it worth while and do something extremely significant like trading to the #1 or #2 spot for either Hall or Seguin.
What do you think about Olesz and a 2nd for O'sullivan and Nilsson from Edmonton?
The oilers need to get bigger- get a player with some unrealized potential and a draft pick for their rebuild.
We get a good goal scorer who works hard in Sully, and a skilled player that might blossom in a new environment in Nilsson.
We also have a lot of 2nd rounders, which makes one of them easier to part with.
It's not ideal of course, but a step up for both organizations? The Oilers really need to lose some of their smaller players, and we could use some skill and scoring.
O'Sullivan and Nilsson aren't anything special. I don't like the idea of moving a 2nd round draft pick for bums like them.
Olesz is awful and making too much money. Oilers would never ever do this. I'd much rather have O'Sullivan and Nilsson than Olesz+2nd. Olesz is basically useless.
Theo's an FA, and that deal won't happen. Would love for it to, though. (Wash can't afford both of those guys)
Well if Theo is a FA, then why not just do
Vokoun, Olesz, 2nd in 2011
for
Semin
??
Isn't Semin a RFA this season? or is it Backstrom?
Either way, Washington gets their #1 goalie, who has played extremely well this season, and Olesz (who might possibly blossom playing with guys like Ovy, and Backstrom) and a 2nd. The Panthers get their top line guy.

Too much salary going to Washington. Value is off by a mile. Nobody wants Olesz.
As far as targets go this off season, I think this guy should be near the top of the list. I know he won't solve the scoring issues, but he would be a tremendous asset on the PP, while adding size and grit to our Top 6 (??).
I've been keeping a close eye on him this playoffs and the kids a force in front, something this team lacks currently.
He's signed through next year at 3m and will be a RFA. Thought to be available as the Hawks are desperate to get under the cap.
What do you think it would take to get him to Florida?
Byfuglien for Rights to Campbell + 2nd '10 (+ 4th '10?)

Yeah, probably. But Campbell's gone anyways imo. And I have a feeling other teams could offer a little better support player with a lesser pick. So a 2nd when we have three and a 4th isn't much when you're getting immediate help. Not to mention a 25 year old w/ potential to be a solid Top 6.
well atleast if we got Byfuglien then Horton wouldn't be the laziest player on the team anymore.
I don't really think Byfuglien is THAT lazy after all. I mean this guy is just so big and all that it's not a surprise that he doesn't look like david booth out there. He knows his role and his assets, which are:
Great size, good speed considering his size, one of the strongest players in the corners and in front of the net, can help the PP either with his hard shot from the point or with his great play in front of the net.

I'd love to have him our team!

+1, would also show that Sexton was serious when he said he wanted to add some size to our team.
I would say that's not enough. Campbell has little to no value. A second round pick is solid and the fourth is whatever. I would think Chicago could get a better deal.
I don't know really. I'd almost do it but Parent is somehow... I don't know. 1 goal and 2 assists in 48 games? Is this guy a true quality shutdown defenseman then? I don't know enough about him I quess.
He's young and pretty big so that's a plus.
If he is a good defensive d-man, then I'd do that deal. I like Briere especially in the playoffs.
Found this proposal in a thread somewhere.
Pretty good, aint it?
Is it even a possibility?
I wouldn't do it. With our luck Versteeg and Sharp will leave after their contracts expire. The #3 has a good chance to be a building block for us for the next decade.
