Big win for Moncton. Does this give them a chance at a good run, or are they in a position where it gives them a huge bargaining chip at the deadline?

I have to think they'll load up for a run. They've had A LOT of bad luck this season though. A lot of injuries including the H1N1 pandemic to 18 players and Kabanov is out for possibly the year.(Could be back for the playoffs). But the defense core is the best in the league and they are mostly 19 so they have to go for it this year I would think. Should be good experience for Riopel.

Leighton is the focus of a CSN article...

http://www.csnphilly.com/pages/landi...551&feedID=695

Quote:
Given that Leighton hasn’t posted good numbers this year, and the Flyers are struggling in virtually every aspect of their game, any start with him in goal has to be considered dicey until this club strings together some wins and builds some team confidence.

“We’ll see, he just got here, he’s a good goaltender and he played games in Carolina,” said coach Peter Laviolette. “Boosh has played pretty good for us.”

He was non-committal on when Leighton might actually play a game.

Leighton himself isn’t sure where he stands.

“I didn’t know what the future held in Carolina, but you don’t expect after you leave a team to come back,” he said, referring to coming to the Flyers a few years ago for a brief spell, before being traded again and then returning to the Flyers now. “I’m pretty excited.”

Maybe 1st start will be vs. Carolina? I wouldn't be surprised.

I want Backlund to start, see how good he can be at his age in the NHL.

Haha, I was just reading this thread. I mean I know he didn't have the best track record coming in but its funny how everyone figured he would play like one game and be waived. Now he is starting in the ECF. Time makes fools of us all...

Same here. New episodes next month or in July. But yeah, Leighton has shown us that his past doesn't matter for us.
