They were on Off the Record with Mike Landsberg. I uploaded the clip to youtube.
Check it out.
These guys are hilarious. I can see why they're so well liked by their teammates.
The fact is, players like them are needed in the locker room to keep the team loose. I even remember reading an article about how during the season, when the flyers were going through a REAL rough stretch, Hartnell and Carcillo goofing around and keeping their spirits up are the only reason they stayed above water.
Like i said, how can you hate these two? Gota love it
Hey Qwerty, how are ya?
I really like Carcillo. But I can't look at Hartnell without wanting to punch him. Granted, he'd kill me without breaking a sweat, but I'd still want to punch him.
I will say, Homer knew what he was doing when he brought Carcillo over here. It took me awhile to warm to the guy, but he was born to be a Flyer, for better and for worse. If Mike Richards is Bobby Clarke, he's Dave Schultz (at least in moustache)
see i was okay with the upshall trade when it happened, because of cap space and because i like players who can be scummy and muck it up a bit. then all of a sudden almost everybody realized that carcillo can really have an impact on the outcome of a game, he can seriously affect the other teams mindset, especially playing on a top line against skilled players. it forces coaches to switch lines up because sometimes you dont want a gaborik, or a bergeron out there against carcillo. his play is something special and im glad we have him, we better give him an extension, he obviously wants to be here.
I, to be honest, liked more the MadMan Danny than this current version of him. Definately not saying I dislike him now, he's hell great for the team while keeps doing some crazy stuff.
Though right now he seem to be abit off his game, I think dropping him down to 4th line role for a moment could help him. Now he's gotta do much more things offensively than on the bottom line.
There he could just keep hitting the opposing D-men thru the boards and yappin' at them afterwards without thinking about the puck too much, he'd pick up his game from there. It's already been done earlier this season.
God some people are still bitter about carcillo. The guy above got it right. Teams don't want to put their top lines out against the carcillo line because they know it's a dangerous thing to play with. Carcillo really threw NJ right off the mark. They didn't know what the hell to do when he was on the ice. Proof of that came when richards was nailing people, because they were looking for carcillo all the damn time. Gagne played probably the best forcheck i have ever seen with carcillo on, because they don't know who is skating at them.
