Georges Laraque believes the Habs can use him against the Flyers

Just heard it on Off the Record with Michael Landsberg.
In the interview, Georges Laraque mentions that he believes that the Habs could use him against the Flyers.

Agree?

I'm surprised I did not burst out laughing on this one. I guess the Laraque thing is just getting too pathetic for that.

Nope. He never initiates and the Flyers won't waste their time and energy with him.

Yes they could use him in front of the net.

None of the other players have the balls to go there. He wouldn't back down from Pronger in there..

lol yeah okay Georges. You can't skate and you never fight.

Plus the Habs tried to use you last year against the Bruins in the playoffs and you did **** all.

Well, if we could hold the zone long enough for him to get to the front of the net/ down low, then he is correct.

For him to get to the net we need to control the play even with him on the ice (knowing he's a liability in all aspects of the game except puck possession in some rare situations and ''being big'') and wait until he gets there (we all know his skating prowess).

Great strategy, I bet Laraque could try and challenge MAB for league worst playoffs +/-

He's done : I'm pretty sure a lot of grandmas DO skate faster than him, its not even a joke anymore, its real. I'm also pretty sure the only hockey the guy has played recently was on the street with some barely clothed chicks on a energy booze commercial.

HFBoards was just mentioned on the show.

Michael Landsberg mentioned that there was a poll or thread (not sure) asking who would win in a fight: GSP or Georges Laraque.

Laraque was with the team for a ****ing year and a half and never did ****. It took him what, 30 games this season to have a shot on net?
He can't even play at a NHL caliber and he never intimidated the opposition. He's even more worthless than Bergeron.

Flyers are not really intimidating or physical against us so far in this serie, they actually played pretty good hockey...

I vote no for BGL.

I don't recall seeing any HW fights in these POs so far..

But of course he's going to say he could be of use. The man still wants to play in the NHL.

How so? The Flyers have nobody even remotely close to his size that would fight him, and he refuses to "bully" anybody, so he would be useless.

Plus, it's not like the Flyers are intimidating us with physical presence, there haven't been many big hits, Carcillo has been a ghost since Laviolette talked to him.

BGL could've been effective by punching Pronger in the head but we all know he would've spent the series faxing Chris tofu burger recipes from health magazines

Lol I said we could use him in game 1 vs Flyers. Though, I wasn't being serious as we know BGL needs approval of the other player in order to fight. In addition, his last fights with us (yea the few ones) were barely any good. Sure he threw a few punches, but he often ended on his ass.

No thank you BGL. Wasn't a fan of you when you weren't a Hab, wasn't a fan of us signing you, wasn't a fan of you as a Hab. Was happy to see you gone. Dont get me wrong BGL, your fights were amusing to watch and you're a cool guy for helping kids and what not. But I don't think you're cut out for the game anymore, players have to retire at some point.

Well he wants to get himself a contract for next year so obviously he wasn't going to say he wouldn't be useful...
