Okay. I'll stop messing with you P_B. Glad you came around again.

i'd love pietrangelo in a canucks uni in the near future
how about something like this:
mason raymond
corey schneider
1st rounder 2010
kevin connauton

at all close? what would it take from the canucks?

Blues have plenty of depth. They don't need to make a quantity for quality trade. Outside of Schneider, there is nothing there that we don't already have in the system.

Concur... while I wouldn't mind another first-round pick, and would like to get Schneider in the 'Note, I don't see a need for Raymond or Connauton in the system.

I'd consider Pietrangelo for Schneider, Vancouver's 1st, and Ryan Kesler... but I doubt the 'Nucks would go for that...

If the Blues got another first-round pick, they could spend the earlier one on a defenseman to replace Pietrangelo in the depth chart. The guys that will be available at 14th overall aren't Pietrangelo-caliber defensemen, but there should still be some quality available there -- I'm thinking Derek Forbort or Jonathan Merrill from the USNTDP, or Moose Jaw's Dylan McIlrath.

Get a scorer with the later first-round pick... if it's Vancouver's pick at something like 26th overall, there's a possibility that a Mikael Granlund would still be on the board then, or Nick Bjugstad... or a guy like Ludvig Rensfeldt, Brad Ross, Teemu Pulkkinen...

No, or at least I sure hope the Blues would never do that.

Finanicially couldn't afford it, it would be stripmining the teams depth.

Possibly Petro straight up. Even that doesn't seem the smartest move. Now Berglund plus a second I would do.
