Read this book and enjoyed it very much. Wish we could go behind the scenes in the future, instead of always looking back at the past

Best bet is to contact the mods directly through PM.

I saw your post and my guess is that they frown upon the idea of idle speculation on the identity of players with off ice issues, who were clearly kept anonymous for a reason.

For the record, Joyce did reply as well and said you were incorrect.

I finally found this book after months of waiting for the Library copy to be available, checking Chapters to see if it was in, and Coles too.

So i went on a mission to go to the smaller and local shops around town, only to find it in the first local bookstore i went into.

Not only that, it was marked-down to $3.99. I don't think i've been this excited to purchase a book, as i'm just a library kind of person. I will sit down tonight for a good read!

I wish we could get this book for every draft year, with a different team opening up their war room each time.

If he wrote a sequel for this year I think there'd be an entire chapter dedicated to Kirill Kabonov.

Yes it is a great read, but I had a real problem with the number of mistakes I found in it and several inaccuracies. For one, claiming that Denis Ezhov was never drafted.

The mistakes are minor ones, IMO, and don't detract from the overall body of work.

Pretty sure he would if he could. It was fortunate that Doug MacLean, who is a media member himself now, seemed to be comfortable with letting an outsider into the draft process. Joyce noted early in his book that he sent out several requests to various teams and was either politely declined or ignored completely.

Joyce's personal scouting does end up on ESPN page, which is about the only thing that's luring me towards ponying up for their "insider" coverage.

Did anyone else notice the reference to Luc Robataille coming into the NHL as an 18-year old?

"You'd have to go all the way back to Luc Robitaille to find a match: someone selected after the first round who played in the NHL at eighteen and had immediate impact."

Lucky Luc played two more (prolific) years of junior before he broke into the NHL, although he did have an immediate impact.
