Carter will likely not be killing penalties, and with it being Lappy's first game back, Powe won't sit either. Carcillo does not play special teams, and I guess Lavi feels they want to leave Asham in and not move Giroux to RW. Powe is on a regular PK rotation anyways.

Wow, I'm very surprised to see Carcillo out. He's been bringing it all season and all of a sudden he is the odd man out?

CSN's latest:

From what I've gathered, Nodl and Carcillo are scratches. Carter will play RW along side Richards and Gagne. However that could change.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Giroux shifted to that RW in Carter's limited minutes. They're probably running about 3 and a half lines today.

No, one of his earlier tweets was a guess, this one from him as well as CSNFlyer specifically says it's Carbomb, from what they can gather. Carter is expected to play right wing with Richards and Gagne although that could change according to CSNFlyer.

Surprising about Carcillo, maybe Lavi is afraid he could lose his cool at some point.

Carcillo set up Gagne's goal in Gm 3 on a great feed and was a +1. Powe brings no offense and was a -2. I think it would be a mistake. The Flyers have plenty of forwards who can kill penalties and here's a thought . . . just stay out of the box.

NHL officiating is too fickle to just be able to go into a game and say "we're not taking penalties today." Powe in is the safe choice.

If that's what it is, I hate it. Powe has hands of stone. Gagne and Hartnell have done PK work before and haven't been getting any lately. Carcillo brings some offense.

even though Carter isn't a good winger, playing him on the wing at the moment is the smart choice. Until he has his skating legs back, decreasing his defensive responsibilities isn't such a bad idea

I didn't see the linesman. If they're mentioned in time, I'll post it. Are we not men, we are Devo.

Anthony's column on Delco Times:

http://anthonysintheroom.blogspot.com/

Quote:
In a surprising move that to me reeks a little of panic on the part of the Flyers, Jeff Carter will be joining Ian Laperriere in a return to the Flyers lineup for Game 4 today.

Carter returns to play one month and one day after surgery to repair a weight-bearing bone in his right foot.

Coming out of the lineup are Andreas Nodl (expected) and Dan Carcillo (unexpected).

Carter still appeared to be in pain while pushing hard on his right foot during the morning skate prior to Game 3 and seemed to be missing the burst at practice yesterday.

Still, the Flyers are bringing him back in a tough spot - a game where they need to have better speed and quickness at Bell Centre where the Canadiens seem to skate just a little harder.

It's even more perplexing of a move to replace Carcillo when Laviolette said Friday that he wanted his team initiating the physical play and instituting the edgy attitude necessary to win.

We'll see in about an hour how Laviolette will play it, but I think there are two possible line combos.

Either Carter will play wing with Richards and Gagne, leaving the other three line intact (with Lappy replacing Nodl on the fourth line), or he moves Giroux to the wing with Richards and Gagne and has Carter center Arron Asham and James van Riemsdyk.
