It's been said Kozun is going to play Friday night.

For those of you who haven't had a chance to follow the games...I've put up game recaps on all the games here....>link<

first period almost over, 2-0 hitmen, 3 kings prospects look good, best game in tournament for schenn so far, kozen looks good, 1 assist so far and marty jones has been spectacular, and I mean spectacular so far.

Brandon wins in OT, Schenn was 1st star and was dominant, can't wait till he is in his early 20's. Jones 2nd star was terrific, kept Calgary in the game. Although Kozun was hurt he played really good as well. I could not believe how much these three stood out. Great game and even better to be Kings fan watching this game.

I wished AHL would get rid of the age requirement ruling. Does anyone have a logical reason as to why this rule was imposed in the first place?

I'd love to see Schenn with the monarchs next year.

Not crazy about Schenn being down in the CHL for another season.

Can Kozun come play for the Monarchs?

I don't know if this is official, but IIRC, it was just to keep kids from turning pro too early so the big leagues wouldn't poach the junior kids, so to speak. Keep the CHL game as competitive as possible.

It makes sense, but cases like Schenn are what make me dislike it in general as well. I wish there were exceptions for that somehow.

Probably not prudent given his injury..but I'd LOVE to see what he could do.

Yeah, if Schenn has to play in the CHL again next year, he's not going to be a happy camper. The kid's got nothing else to prove in the C.

On a sidenote, isn't there some stipulation in place where an underaged CHL player (younger than 20) can play in the AHL if he's fulfilled "x" number of games played at the C level?

To be honest, I have no clue. Hopefully someone else can chime in on that, but that would be exactly the sort of exemption I think would be best for both the individual players AND the leagues involved. I didn't get to watch Schenn enough to judge whether or not another year of junior would be like spinning his wheels, but if he doesn't have an option, that's really unfair to the player.

I don't think Schenn would qualify but I think Kozun may. I wished I knew where to look this up.
