What tournament performers, players who were good already but really stood out or drafted prospects that are trying to make their NHL first team will make the final cut for October?
I hope to see a few of Swiss, German or Denmark players.
I actually think Petteri Nummelin could do well in NHL if he finds a good team.I know he is old and wont go. Also, as a Finnish guy i`m homer.But can the guy ever move the puck smooothly.
Philip Larsen from Denmark was already under contract but he should either crack the Stars lineup full time next year or be a frequent call up from the AHL.

Nummelin is the prototype of a skilled euro too small/soft for NHL. It's already been seen before.
Roman Cervenka expected to get a contract in the NHL. I would give him one as a baggage handler. Maybe as a masseur if he shows some talent...

I think we all had our expectations a bit too high. The guy's got talent and works pretty hard, he just needs to leave our league. But I have to agree- he's not an NHL-level player at this point.

After the busts with Columbus (where, if my memory serves me well, they used him as a fourh line forward!!!), the 2nd try with Minnesota (where he was doing kinda ok at the beginning) and his age, the chances for Petteri are ZERO.
He better stay in Switzerland with Lugano, where he is considered almost a god.
He should finish his career there, better for him, better for Lugano fans (I am one...), eveyone's happy...
How old does a European player have to be now to be ineligible for the draft? This rule has confused me a little since the lockout. Do they become NHL free agents after age 22?

The Czechs with their win may generate some interest although I am not overly excited.
Klepis was a first round bust but there appears to be a player there. Caslava is 31 but he can get in passing and shooting lanes and could fill a hole if he wants to take a run at it.
Vampola spent too much time on his back or belly for a guy 200 pounds.
Holzer and Krueger are both space eating d men with right shots - they could end up in the NHL.
I like the package Marcel Muller has but I am not sure if he can get quick enough to play in the NHL. He intrigues me.
The only Swede I liked to make the jump is the obvious one - MPSvensson.
Niklas Persson and Jonas Andersson. Persson is rumored to Chicago and Andersson has been talking to the Predators, who still own his rights.
Andersson is big AND a tremendous skater. Can definitely see him being of interest to a few NHL teams. Time will tell if his game translates.
As for Persson, I felt he was the worst player on the ice in the games against the Czechs and the Germans, which I watched live. At times he was brutal.... weak on his skates, caught doing circles just trying to keep up. Not sure if he was the guy who iced the puck with a no-look backhand attempt at the empty net with 14 seconds to go against the Czechs? I thought it was him.
That was just a sample size though...

He was very impressive - except against Sweden. Kind of broke down in that game.
In general though, a very intelligent player whose smaller size plays little to no role because he's so strong, well-conditioned and knows how to position himself in the little battles. Puck possession was also off the charts.

Cervenka was pretty impressive at times. He was one of the Czechs that made a lot of folks in attendance raise an eyebrow.
