Marleau is even worse.

Let's build a team like the Sharks...a big soft team that never wins anything

They'll have to let some big pieces go...they have about 70+ mil of cap hit on the roster if they were to keep the whole team...and nobody will take Huet or Campbell off their hands.

Theyll bury Huet in the minors before they let Byfuglien go.

As much as we all are complaining about Plekanec, I think the team re-sign's him. There is no one in the organization that can replace him and no one in FA that the Habs could get to replace him. But I think after his playoffs he won't get anywhere near the 5mil he was supposedly looking for.

I hope the Habs can sign him for 3 years at 11-12mil. After that hopefully someone from our prospects will be ready to play top line center.

Proposal at the 2010 draft

To Montreal:

Lecavalier
Malone
Smith

For

To Tampa Bay:

Hamerlik
Halak
S. Kost
A. Kost
1st 2010

We get Lecavalier (as a dump, which management over there wants) as a result we let Pleks walk. we hand over the reigns to Price as usual and have Smith back em up. We get rid of dead weight in the Kos bro's and replace them with exactly what we need in Malone. And clear Hammer's cap hit to make it all work.
Hammers contact is only one year left, can mentor Hedman for that time.
Think it works for both teams.

That just doesn't fit under the cap.

Gomez for Lecavalier straight up and if Yzerman wants more he can go shop Vinny elsewhere.

With Beach ready for NHL and Buff's value reaching level's it hasn't been we should trade him while he is hot

2 of Versteeg/Sharp/Buff will have to go

With Skille ready for NHL versteeg is 1st one out door but then it becomes a very hard choice

Buff's playoffs have been great and he seem's to fit in well with Toews/Kane. On other hand Sharp is having a great playoff as well and can play all 3 forward positions so it would allow us to keep him at C with Hossa/Brouwer next year and have Toews-Sharp-Bolland down middle.

Buff is also a RFA after next year and with Seabrook/Brouwer also set to be RFA's next summer we cant afford to keep Byfuglien longterm

Ladd will probably be back (Unless talks breakdown or Hawks get a 3rd line LW via trade) So next year these are the 2 possibilities I see for our top 9

Byfuglien-Toews-Kane
Brouwer-Bolland-Hossa
Ladd-Kopecky or UFA C-Skille

or
Beach-Toews-Kane
Brouwer-Sharp-Hossa
Ladd-Bolland-Skille

To me it is a no brainer,,,, With Beach/Skille ready and Sharp's versatility the 2nd set of lines is far more impressive
