Ugh, talk about nauseating.

It's as if they all had siblings and cousins actually donning the uniforms themselves. Reminds me of another city not too far off from the Great Lakes.

Man, had you asked this before this final, it would have been a no brainer....

I have trouble going to any main boards. But im going with Chicago fans (not all, but damn there are a lot of them).

I've actually been reading some Pens boards lately, it's actually not too bad.

Apparently we're not even allowed to consider having a chance in this finals however.

I'm surprised there are so many of them. I mean, look at their board.

you're going to see a lot of smugness from Hawks fans because they feel they're the favorite to win

but i'm not going to write you guys off again. this is going to be a hell of a series. i'm not bitter. i want to see a good series, so make it one!

Penguins fans are the most annoying by far, but it's not because they're smug. It's because they didn't exist before 2007.

I think both are part of the same phenomenon.

There are a lot of apparent teens from Canada with join dates in the last year - some within the last month - that are now Chicago Blackhawks fan, and I doubt whether they were 3 or 4 years ago.

These newer "bandwagon" fans seems to be the ones who are particularly smug, much as what we saw with the Pens.

The longtime suffering Hawks fans seem fine, for the most part.

Hawks fans didn't either. They didn't even air games on TV locally.

This! I think the Hawks will always have a good core group of fans like us. Most Pittsburg fans didn't come around until Crosby showed up...

I'd say

50% of Chi-Town fans suck

and

75% of Pens fans suck

Yeah, they're getting annoying. You'd think they handed out the Stanley Cup the day the Hawks beat the Sharks.

Eh, I wouldn't put much stock into join dates... I mean mine is rather recent, only because I never really knew about these boards.

Not so much the fans but the media is starting to annoy me.

"Chicago learned a lot when they lost in the conference finals, and that puts them over the top now". Where the hell were most of the current the Flyers the year before last? Oh yeah... the conference finals.

I like the Blackhawks from a historic standpoint but they are very similar to the Penguins: Ownership issues (though the Pens almost relocated while the Hawks were save), crap team, back-to-back top first round picks, success returns largely on the back of those picks (rather than smart management), smug fans hop on bandwagon.

Yeah, they're making their team less and less likable from my standpoint.

Same could be said for Hawk fans.

Conclusion; fair weather fans are annoying.

I am confused to. Either there are a lot of Band wagoners, or they are all intrinsically trolls that love to post on the main boards.

Teams that do well will get their fair share of bandwagoners. Flyers will have their bandwagon fans as well, hell I'm a pens fan and I am pulling for the Flyers to win it all. I absolutely love the makeup of this team and can honestly say I was rooting for them to beat every opponent of theirs in these playoffs.

Chicago fans have gotten extremely annoying, but not just in Hockey here, ask them to give their assessment about the Bears or the Cubs and you'll hear equally homeristic crap out of them.

hah, I was just thinking about this the other day, while reading some of the pre-Cup Threads. never knew Blackhawk fans to be so obnoxious.

still have to give the Pens fans the nod tho, just for longevity.

The lone 5-minute trip that I made to the main boards yesterday ended with me quickly x'ing out, and concluding that Chicago fans are up to par with Pens fans.

I mean the Flyers don't hold a candle to the Hawks in any category, they're just that deep and loaded. How dare Philly even try to compare to the best team the NHL has ever seen!!!111one!!

My co-worker is a Bears fan, and I bet him $50 before last season that once again the Bears wouldn't make the PO's and the Eagles would. I was enjoying it just as much as you were.

I think you're the only one. I think this is the most likable bunch of Flyers in recent year, but come on, they're the big bad bullies and the disgrace of the NHL, aren't they?

Actually there have been quite a few Pens fans showing us some support. Which is funny, because there is absolutely no way I would ever be able to cheer for the Penguins...just would never happen.

I hear this. We all experienced this in our own backyard with the Phillies. Now it's kinda cool to be a Phillies fan, that I also feel like a loser wearing the same Phillies gear I have always rocked.

Not because some of it is older (Thome shirt, lol) but because people ask me who he is.

I would never, ever rout for any of the Atlantic teams. Maybe the Canes or something, hell, even the Caps and Knuble, but never Pittsburgh, Devils or Rangers.

We try to hold ourselves above threads with the sole purpose of wacking another team's fan base. Philly fans don't like it when other people take apart our fan base, so let's be better than that.
