I can't believe I am saying this, but the guy had an awful year and has something to prove and will come cheap, like really cheap in a one year deal.

He did well in Montreal, injury bug, but other than that did produce offensively in his stint here.

He may consider coming back to prove to the Montreal fans and media he can play, and to prove to himself he still has a lot to offer and can still play. He is only 30 still and could be signed for say $1,000,000 - $1,500,000 and could be on the third line to start, but could move up depending on his play and also allows a safety net if Pouliot struggles.

Thought?

Out of all the guys not re-signed he has no baggage and no long time ties to the team that would effect the dressing room.

New owner, new GM and new Coach...plus pretty much new team as 10-11 faces are different from his time her a year ago, not to mention changes this summer.

Nope, all full on small or soft up front, time to add some grit to make more room for these guys.

Not like I want him, but a guy with his skills and his age would be a steal of a deal if he burst back out...could be nice trade bait too since he would be a one year deal.

So he'd be great to sign, because he can be used as trade bait?

I don't get it.

I'd rather barf on my best friend's bride's gown than go into the NHL playoffs with Tanguay.

No, GOD NO. This guy is probably my least favorite hab. He did well in his time here but he just doesn't seem to me like a guy who plays for his team to win. He's already bad mouthed the organization and will most likely not even come here anymore. He's a jaune.

No.

I'm saying he could be a safety net to put with Gomez and Gionta if Pouliot were to struggle, or to be with Pleks and Cammarelli if the same should happen with AK.

If he panned out, I am saying Montreal would trade him at the deadline because he would have value as they would not re-sign him if he had a break out year as his salary would escalate again.

I don't want him, maybe I'm still bitter Bob gave up a 1st and a 2nd rounder for him when he only had 58 points in 78 games in Calgary...why the hell did he pay that price???:

Why does everyone hate him? He did really well during his short stint here. I thought he was one of our most talented forwards.

I wouldn't bring him back simply because we have too many playmakers. We need goal scorers. Period.

We have no need of a selfish wet noddle that cost Montreal a 2009 first round pick (Greg Nemisz) with nothing to show for it except tears.

Softy for softy, I'd take Afinogenov way ahead Tanguay....

But we need to try and be bigger on the wings. Can we do that please...

Get over it and move on! Gainey did.

Bringing him back just because we gave up too much to get him is HORRIBLE reasoning! Move on!
