Tampa Bay hires Steve Yzerman as GM

Looks like Dougie Ballgame lost out to Steve Yzerman. I think it's a good hire by Tampa Bay although it will be weird to have Yzerman represent a club other than Detroit.

Yeah I think Tampa lucked out with getting him. He should be pretty good. But you're right, I'll have trouble envisioning him with another club.

Apparently Stevie Y was the Wild's first choice last season for the vacant GM position...

then I thought about this.

It is interesting though...since he was never mentioned last summer, and Russo is basically on top of everything that happens Wild-wise...
