Flyers have a great team. What a run you've had. You were one shot away from missing the playoffs, one shot away from being eliminated in OT by the Bruins in game 4. Injuries to some of your key players including your goalie...in steps Leighton. Congratulations. Your team really wanted to win and never gave up...well deserved. Best of luck in the finals.

Figured I'd wander over here and offer my congrats Flyers fans. You were clearly the better team... and I am jealous that you have Mike Richards.

Best of luck in the finals guys.

I've always wondered how people from Toronto referred to themselves.

And thank you.

I think it is a reference to a mistake made during a speech in Boston (prior to a Flyers' game) honoring the anniversary of Bobby Orr's Cup goal in 1970. Ionic was said instead of "iconic."

I thought we were talking about how charged up the Wachovia Center was last night about this team's strong nucleus. Playing in the Stanley Cup finals has been the dream of all of these players since they were in the Atom league.

I would still be screaming bloody murder.

Flyers had more wins than NYR, BOS, and MTL. They deserved to be in whether they won that shootout or not. They proved so by knocking all 3 of those teams out.

Sadly, the shootout is here to stay and that very same scenario can happen again with the best team being left out in the dark. (Flyers having more wins and Boston with 13OTL.)

Ah yes! I forgot about that. Just like I forgot that Varitek split the uprights.

Feels good, man.

Thanks to all the Habs fans who are acting all classy like. And the other fans, too. Much appreciated.

What a team, what a year, lets go for it! I am very proud of this team. I think back to the finals 13 years ago and see them as a one trick pony, now we are so different.
Players win games, teams win championships

I am not sure about the stats, but couldn't you guys having more wins be a product of the shootout? IE you guys won more shootouts so had more wins? Like I said, I am not sure about the stats, just throwing that out there.

Flyers went 4-3 in the shootout 11 points....

Bruins went 10-9 in the shootout 29 points....

NYR went 3-4 in the shootout 10 points.....

MTL went 7-5 in the shootout 19 points.....

If I were a Ranger fan I would be furious Boston got in and my team didn't.

This gimmick needs to stop.

Hell, I was furious as a Flyers fan that Boston had home ice over us when we had more wins. They won 39 out of 82 games. ****ing pathetic.
