Well Tanzen is dancing. Klub is club. Klub can also slangly refer to night clubs.

Totally made up but comes out closer to "dance club" or clubber dance

Seems like a win-win signing for us..

He did extremely well in the SEL which I would consider a step above the AHL... I'll admit I know absolutely nothing about this guy, but I know that we always need puck-moving defenseman and this according to his scouting reports is a strong point. He'll probably play in the AHL next year, but that's fine by me we'll get to see what he's got.

the only interesting thing about this is that the habs sign a d man, like maybe some d man is leaving?

I'm the farthest thing from an authority on German, but I know this. I also know that tanz (just like that; unconjugated) is dance (noun, not verb). So I just took the lazy route from "night club dance" to "dancing in a night club" to "'nightclubbing." Guess I could have gone the more interesting route to arrive at "lap dance" but whatever.

This is not a signing for the NHL, even if he has a torrid training camp and makes the team. He likely replaces Subban on the Dogs lineup, the org wouldn't bet on him stepping up to replace anyone on the Habs lineup.

It could mean something like Fischer wont be back next year, maybe Gauthier plans on getting the pick for not being able to sign him instead....

But thats only if Fischer doesnt accept the cheap offer Gauthier needs to send him

He played in the SEL with Andreas Engqvist. This is probably a major reason why we signed him, to help Andreas in the AHL.

I doubt it has anything to do with helping Andreas. One is Swedish and the other is American. It probably has more to do with having watched him play as they were scouting Engvist.

I don't know pal, next year Dogs' D squad is a big question mark.

Shawn Belle, André Benoit, Alex Henry - NHL UFA

Chad Anderson, Frédéric St. Denis - AHL FA

P.K. Subban - Most likely NHL

Mathieu Carle - Waivers required to be sent down, maybe NHL with Habs or other team

Yannick Weber - AHL? maybe NHL

Brendon Nash, Kyle Klubertanz - under contracts for 2010-11

Mike Busto - NHL RFA if they want to keep him in the system

Have to offer him a contract first in order to get that pick.

This is what it is. This is the Bulldogs' replacement for Subban in all likelihood.

I think that it's good to have a winning AHL team that can help develop young players with winning attitudes. So I agree with the Habs keeping the Bulldogs as competitive as possible.

Well I'm making a comp on him and I'll say he does make the occasional defensive gaff but he seems to be pretty good at skating with the puck and a decent shot.

A smooth-skating blueliner with plenty of offensive potential, Klubertanz also has a fiesty attitude. Despite his average size, he doesn't back down and plays with a chip on his shoulder. His greatest attribute is his puckmoving skills. He also sees the ice extremely well and is excellent at reading the play. His time in the college system should be devoted to developing his potential further as well as improving his defensive play. He also needs to get stronger to continue to play his style.

A third round draft choice in 2004 and a wizard at moving the puck, Klubertanz is still very much a project. He has plenty of offensive potential and could be a future powerplay quarterback if all goes well. His size may hold him back from being a top pairing blueliner, but his drive and hard work could ensure that he does get a regular roster spot.

great can't wait to see it

where do you take your highlight ? wouldn't mind having more highlight/footage of Adam Larsson and other swedish draft prospects

Anybody heard the Michel Villeneuve scenario?

Gauthier signed Klubertanz 'cause.....they might be interested in.....Ryan McDonagh and having Klubertanz, who has played 1 year with him would be a start to convince McDo to give the Habs a shot at signing him once/if he becomes UFA.

I really doubt a team would sign a player just for that reason, it is even not a factor, imo. The Habs organisation is too serious to do this kind of "lobbying", it isn't a good partnership for the player they just signed...

They are three wishful thinking...

And why not to sign Higgins as UFA too?
