You probably don't even know that he exists, but you have a very good yopung Defensive Prospect in Constantin Braun.
Will he come over to Lops Angeles next season? He should be a #5/#6 Defenseman for the Kings form the sart and could become a solid #3/#4 guy in the next years.
You're right in that I don't know a lot about the guy. The real good thing is that he'll have a lot of competition if he wants to be the #6 guy. That bodes really well for the team in general. Hickey, Voinov, Drewiskie, Harrold, Muzzin, Martinez, and a slew of other guys will be duking it out. I really like this.
He's got a lot of people to beat on the depth chart, but anything could happen.
I do remember him from his 1st rookie/prospect camp out here. I remember he needed a lot of work on his skating, and that he took a puck to the mouth in the prospect game. But yes, haven't heard much about him since.
Talent Analysis
Big, tall kid that will work in the corners and around the net. Average skater for his size. Will need to work on his skating and offensive skills if he is ever to see the NHL as a forward. Otherwise, a serviceable mobile defenseman if committed to the position change.
Future
Braun still needs time to develop, but can be a low risk / high reward type of player that Dean Lombardi is noted for discovering out of the German leagues. The lack of a transfer agreement between the NHL and Europe means that the Kings retain Braun's rights indefinitely. His recent attendance at an offseason training camp demonstrates that he is at least still on the Kings radar, even if only slightly.

How good is He?

Red Rover, Red Rover send Constantin Braun on over!

Whuuut ????
He switched from Polar Bears to Polar Bears juniors and was a loan to the 2nd
league team Dresden Lions.
Don't mistake this guys with his brother Laurien Braun.
He is not really used as a Defender he plays left wing.
It's sad to say this because i know him in person, but the only reason for him
and the other Polar Bears players to be invited to camp is Anschutz is asking
for that to catch attention in Berlin Germany.
If you guys think Jones or Modry were mediocre.... let Braun play against
NHL attackers and you have a new whipping boy.
i'm fairly certain there are a handful of us who remember his first prospect's camp when his face took a puck with a noise that was heard all the way back to the vaterland.

.
Yeah, I noticed that, I googled him and He is a C on wikipedia, a LW on Hockeydb and a D on the La kings page.
Does he think He is Peter Harrold or something?
the Capitals scout Petri Skriko talked to him, but he doesn't said anything special.
Maybe at the draft day or something.
The major reason for him was to scout players who are not under contract
Was drafted as a forward and moved to D when a spot opened up on his team. I guess the kid has done alright in the transition and probably doesn't hurt to be able to play both O and D. Bigger than Harrold, and may find a niche' in that role. You never know.

indeed..........
but he is asked to do that.
In reality the DEL is weak enough to do something like that.
If you wanna compare Braun to someone it's indeed Harrold.
Can play everywhere but not really good and he
invented the slowness new.
He ha not that upside like Harrold

If we start to dress guys like that
and Lombardi is coming to me and tells me we are in schedulle and wanna take the next step i punsh him into the face

Not sure what you said here, but I probably agree. If Braun has a roster spot next season, expect a long season along with a FA bust or two. If he's the better option of Hickey, Voynov, Muzzin etc, that's not a real good sign IMO.

I see him clearly as a Defender. He proceed very nice the last years. A bit surproising that he isn't even noticed by the Kings.
If a Matt Greene makes it as an NHL Defender for you Braun should for sure.

Even though Matt's not fleet of foot, He is the most physical D-man we have.
Can Constantine clear a 250lb man from in front of the net? or take a puck to the face?
If Constantine was as good as you said he was, I'm thinking we would have heard something about him. My thinking is that you're view may be skewed just a tad seeing how you speak of Greene, who is a solid stay at home dman.

Yes, Matt Greene is a solid NHL Defender. I saw both guys play often enough. I think Braun could play such a role too, with more offensive skills.
But I doubt he will have a future by the Kings, as it seems he isn't on their radar anymore.

He really isn't. Even if he were to turn things around, I don't see him ever having a job with the Kings. He will likely have to break through with another team if he were to ever have a shot.

That would require a lot of math... But, in short, it is because Google is amazing.

Iunno, but maybe we should make another thread about it so we can have kinda like a "private VIP" thread about an ongoing thread.
YO DAWG, I HEARD YOU LIKE THREADS
Ah, is that what you've been trying to tell me.
I actually don't start as many thread as you may think. Especially if you subtract the "happy birthday" threads (of which I no longer do). I started 59 threads and about 9 to 10 of those threads were the "happy birthday" variety. So, we're actually talking about 50 threads out of more than 3600+ posts. Which makes it about 1.5 % of my total posts.
You can also add me to your "ignored list". I'm cool with that.

Indeed Braun played very well the last two seasons in DEL (German Hockey League). And he was at the rookie camp so the management clearly tries to evaluate him. He has played some good hockey in the recent World Hockey Championship.
As for the NHL future. I could see him in the NHL as a reliable shutdown defensman on the bottom defensive pairing but I don't know if he's gonna get the chance to prove himself overseas (especially with the Kings organization considering the Kings defensive prospect group).
