You did a really nice job on that!

If the Flyers get the split in CHI, and the Hawks are only a very weak 5-3 at home this playoffs, Philly is in the driver's seat. They're 7-1 at home and 8-0 in Games 4 and later. As the series go on, the Flyers get better. Even a so-so start by the Hawks spells doom.

I keep forgetting that Hossa plays for Chicago. That makes their second line a little scarier. Nothing a little Pronger or Timonen action won't solve, but still. This should be a great series. I would like to see Carter moved to center on line two and have Briere move up to wing on the top line. Anyone else on that same wavelength? I just don't want to see a defensive performance from Briere like in game one (I think it was game one). Either way...GO FLYERS! Let's make some more history!!!

Why would you move Briere off of Hartnell and Leino unless forced to?

I'm just worried about a defensive lapse. Chicago has scoring like the Flyers haven't seen in these playoffs, and I know Carter isn't winning the Selke any time soon but if that top line is out there and Briere's line is as well, I don't like those matchups at all. Leino and Briere aren't good enough defensively to help out in their own zone against that top line. At least with Carter out there you've got a little more size to work with. I'm not saying we are doomed if they leave it the way it is, I would just feel more comfortable if they switched.

You wait for that to become a problem before trying to fix it.

When you get this far, it comes a time where you need to have Briere and Hartnell to just understand the situation and do what it takes to get the job done. Even though Montreal couldn't score any goals, they were back there backchecking. You haven't seen Regular Season Briere and Regular Season Hartnell for a while.

You might be right on that. One team will get off to the better start and the other team will make adjustments. Let's hope it's CHI who has to make the adjustments.

Hossa has been a Flyer killer in the playoffs for both OTT and PGH. He was the best Penguin against us in the 08 ECF, better than Malkin or Crosby. He has 24 pts in 16 playoff games against us. CHI needs a big series from him and Campbell to have a good chance at winning this thing. A good sign for the Flyers will be neither of those guys having an impact tonight. I didn't think either one looked very good last Sunday.

That 2008 series we only had Coburn for one game, and Timonen for one game. This series he'll see plenty of both.

This is the first series that our goalie will definitely have to steal us a game. Let's face it, we weren't exactly playing offensive dynamos so far. But, win or lose, it has been a great (and unexpected) ride. Pronger is going to be insane every shift. Briere should be able to continue his great playoffs as they aren't the type of team that will shut him down. We just need to stay out of the box as much as possible. Fugly and Bolland are each near the top of the heap in terms of minor penalties for Chicago (though they are largely matched by Pronger and Richards and Briere, unfortunately) and they need to keep going to the box.

Unfortunately, this series is going to be like most others, special teams will be the tipping point. We are going to take "good" penalties clearing the crease but we can't take lazy, offensive zone penalties.

The Flyers need to do more acting and less reacting to win this series. Lavi isn't a heavy matchups guy, and we have had success just playing our game. Play the way that has got you here and take the play to the Hawks. No reason to constantly be concerned with matchups and start chasing the game

Laviolette is the better coach. But, you are right, he doesn't get wrapped up in match-ups. However, when healthy, this team has a beastly 4th line and a 3rd line that, if not amazing defensively (lacking a true center), can at least keep the puck in the offensive zone with regularity. When the bottom doesn't drop out, talent-wise, with forward depth then match-ups aren't nearly as important. But what Lavi will do and do well is tweak the overall team strategy. There's a reason why this team is stellar in the second period.

I still can't believe the testicular fortitude it took to dive into that, whether it be he dove to try and chop the puck on net or to try and sneak through Halak. Still one of my favorite goals ever.

Heart like this wins Cups.

FOUR MORE BOYS! GET IT DONE, STARTING TONIGHT!
