Hamilton next year

Belle, Sanford and Darche back as UFAs
Trotter, Carle, Wyman, Desharnais, Russel, Desjardins back as RFAs
St.Denis and Lacroix back on AHL contracts
Pacioretty, White, Pyatt, Subban in the NHL

Brock Trotter - Davis Desharnais - Aaron Palushaj
Hunter Bishop - Ben Maxwell - Mathieu Darche
Ryan Russell - Andreas Engqvist - James Wyman
Gabriel Dumont - Olivier Fortier - Andrew Conboy
*Dany Masse, Philippe Lefebvre, Maxime Lacroix

Shawn Belle - Mathieu Carle
Frederic St-Denis - Yannick Weber
Brendon Nash - Kyle Klubertanz

Curtis Sanford - Cedrick Desjardins - Robert Mayer

- Carle and Trotter need to pass through waivers, so not sure what will happen with them.

- Sanford or Desjardins could be backup with the Habs...

- We will probably sign some AHL vets, especially on defense.

This is just might take on it, let's see your teams!

Won't Avitsin be on the team as well next year. That's what the reports are saying.

-If I'm not mistaken Desjardins and Desharnais have to go through waivers also
-Lefevbre is too young to play in the AHL
-I dont think that Lacroix will be back, he wasn't really good in the ECHL
-I would like to keep Glumac and Henry. Maybe they could accept an AHL contract with a good salary (maybe around 200K)

Yes he is, but I heard his Agent convinced him to possibly go to the Q for a season. I think hes too young for the AHL.

Euro players can play in the AHL at 18 ithink..i take Niclas Bergfors as exemple. The devils drafted him in 2005 at 18 and send him in the AHL instead of the Q (he was picked 1st overall in the Q draft for oversea player)

Someone correct me if i'm wrong

I think Trotter might end up in the NHL, honestly, he seems like a good player who can contribute on both the top six and bottom six (a key to advancing). Looked good when he was up.

Would love to see Trotter and White stick. I also imagine Darche, if he's back, will be back as 13th forward in the NHL or nothing.

Nope, they only have 2 pro seasons since they are under NHL contracts. Desharnais was signed at 22, 3 years without waivers (or after 70 NHL games played). Desjardins was signed at 23, 3 years without waivers (or 60 NHL games played).

dunno how I'd feel about him possibly going to the Q. IMO KHL to Q is downgrade in terms of competition. I think he'd be better off in the AHL.

I guess that you are right

Anyway, I thought that their ECHL season counted in the waivers rule.

I'm sure that some AHL teams would love to do that but you can't dress more than 5 or 6 veterans. So it would be useless to sign all those guys.

Need some confirmation on Trotter, he has to pass through waivers this year correct? That's what your site says.

He was signed at the age of 20 in the middle of the 2007-08 season, even if he played like 2-3 months in the year, the contract started and this season was his 3rd, so yeah, he must pass through waivers next year.

You mean, we should just trade for the Hershey Bears roster?

Nice roster for the PO, but maybe a bit soft for the regular season without Henry, Glumac and Neilson. I would like at least one player with a bit of nastiness to respond to the marlies.

Well imo its a double edged sword.

The Good:

Avtsin plays in the Q, gets climatized with NA style hockey, and has a chance to dominate offensively, explore his creativity, and develop his game without too much pressure.

He plays top line minutes instead of 4th line on a stacked team in russia. (Keep in mind his team is now gone).

The Bad: He goes to a weaker league, and possibly hinders his development (although not likely).

I think the Q is a good league to develop his offensive game, and let loose, where as in the KHL they might have told him to keep it much more simple.

Surprised Belle would be resigned. Agree with the RFA's being back and do not think there will be any interest for any of these guys coming down from training camp. Just a note, but Trotter might be better going to Europe if he could. Ater watching him for two years he isn't going to crack the NHL. St. Denis shouldn't be on an AHL contract. he was as good as Carle and Weber this year and Pacioretty will start in Hamilton next year where he belongs. the defense you have listed will get pushed around big time.

Lots of good forwards have developed in the Q. I think he (and hopefully Leblanc too) will benefit from a season there.
