Just mentioned this in the Prospects thread, Groulx and Demers I can live with but Zackrisson surprises me. 16 goals and 32 points in 45 SEL games before he got injured is not to be scoffed at without top line minutes.

I'd love to know the rationale on his release.

Could be that he told the Sharks he has no intention of leaving Sweden.

Or with the rumored loss of the 2010-2011 season due to injury, the Sharks might be able to sign him cheap next summer?

If team Sweden (aka Detroit) doesn't get him first.

Groulx doesn't surprise me.

You shouldn't get paid just you have a brother in the org.

Zackrisson though is odd. He should be capable of making the NHL, and we finally drafted a european guy. Bummer.

Danny Groulx who's been playing for Worcester, I'm guessing.

While I've never asked, my guess is the two are not related...

Could care less about Demers and Groulx (who is actually solid IMO- we just have so much depth). However, losing Zackirsson is a bit of a blow. IMO, he is better than Torrey Mitchell right now, or at least was prior to injuries. He would have been a very good third liner in two years, and prior to the injury probably could have cracked next years squad. I am not sure he would have become a second liner, but he could have at least been useful depth. Our current winger depth is as follows: Benn Ferrerio. Awesome.

Lol. Samuel doesn't have any brother.

SJ must be deep on D to not sign him.

Danny Groulx and Sam Groulx are not related.

and I'm a little surprised at this. Zackrisson actually surprises me the least since it's kinda seemed that he's not as interested in coming over to North America as the Sharks would want (he also might be one of those "I won't play in the AHL and if you try and make me I'm never coming back" players."

FWIW, INCH states that Wingels is signed to three year ELS deal. But that would only happened if he signed prior to his 22nd birthday, days after he participated in the Frozen Four.

It's more likely he's on a two year ELS deal (and signed in the past month).

(Trying to get length clarified. The Sharks announcement states "standard ELS" deal.)

There is a few more I believe, but only Ferrerio has a decent chance of becoming a top 6, although maybe we will get really, really lucky with Mashinter.

That's like the people who thought Evander and Patrick Kane were brothers.

I'm a little surprised, I thought I'd been hearing good things about Demers with the 67s, and that he had had a pretty decent playoffs. Actually, I thought I'd read good things about Groulx too.

Same. Pretty surprised that all 3 didnt get signed to be honest, just as I'm surprised Hutton did get signed.
