The former Predator and current Shark is asking San Jose fans to partake in a charity auction prior to Game 2 tonight of the Western Conference Finals (Nichol’s Sharks will be hosting Chicago).
The event is a combo effort from San Jose team and the Sharks Foundation to help raise awareness for funds for flood relief and recovery efforts in Middle Tennessee.
“The damage to the city has been horrible and any help from our Sharks fans will mean a lot to the Nashville community,” Nichol said in a statement. “It’s a great city with great people. My family really enjoyed our time there and wish everyone there the best in their recovery efforts.”
I can't believe we let Nichol walk last year. We pay half a mil to Belak to be "locker room glue." We could've paid that same money to to Nichol and had a hockey player too. He would've helped our PK immensely, and is a warrior. Probably would've been on the ice in the dying minutes of games 6.

um, Belak didnt see the ice in the playoffs. So who would Scooter have replaced? Goc? Dont think so... Smithson? maybe but the PK would have been a net wash.
Nichol was redundant and had a history of taking untimely, stupid penalties. He's apparently a great person, and I hold no grudge, but i dont think he'd have been any kind of difference maker for us

Spaling, Smithson, maybe even Boyd or Tootoo. Even if he had to play wing I think he would have been a better option.

Spaling only saw ice time because of injury and the guy that lost ice time was Boyd. As noted by someone, Nichol and Smitty woulda' been a PK wash, and Smitty was already signed for several years, so while Nichol prolly has better O skills, that doesn't make sense.
Toots is the interesting one; I think we'd have been a better hockey team, but not tougher for sure. Plus, Toots is a fan-fave, so that's kinda' a tough call.
I like Nichol - I'd much rather have him than Smitty. But as someone mentioned, he was pretty much a redundant piece on a team that already had too many 4th-liners, and with his history of untimely penalties, hard to say he's a better choice to have on the ice.
Ouch. Hopefully they can recover relatively quickly, but... ouch ouch ouch.

This is a band? it belongs in a Nashville Predators forum why?
It does say it's off topic. It's not like it's getting in the way of 9000 other threads anyway, so why don't we leave it as is unless a moderator sees fit?

Craig and Sherri Parrish are hoping to turn trash into cash for flood victims in Cottonwood and other subdivisions.
The Double Impact Nashville founders, who collected 77 discarded chairs from rubble piles outside of homes damaged in last month's floods, are coordinating efforts to turn the chairs into artwork to raise money for Cottonwood, River Plantation and Newsom Station flood victims through its CHAIRity Auction.
"People have sat in these chairs and had Thanksgiving and said prayers and told stories and shared laughs. Chairs represent the family, and while these chairs seem broken, we want to turn them into mended memories," Sherri said. "We would like to get the people whose homes they come from back around the tables as a family, but we think we can help a lot more."
The Parrishes, who created their faith-based nonprofit in 2007, were heading up community outreach in River Plantation, Newsom Station and Cottonwood for their Brentwood church, Harpeth Presbyterian Church, when they had the epiphany, Craig said.
"We saw these monstrous piles of debris everywhere and said, 'We have to take these chairs and rescue them and make them into something beautiful.' "
