Well deserved for sure! I'd like to see him get the award two years in a row . . . . . Go 'Yotes!

Congrats to him. I knew Maloney was the right guy for this job the moment I heard him speak. We were all worried about getting the assistant GM from the Rangers, and turns out he's been arguably the best GM in the league since he came here.

Well considering he didnt have a great stint with the Islanders and then was under Glen Sather who has done some questionable moves i think people were worried he wasn't going to be good but he sure has proved everyone wrong so far. Lets hope he gets a bit more money to work with and can build a solid team.

Kudos to DM for a fantastic job with this Franchise

Now as an ENCORE, a little maneuvering at the draft to ensure the Coyotes can draft Skinner and a second "Prime Prospect" at 22.

Not all GM's are created equal with at all budget levels. I suspect that Maloney, much like Sather, is a good GM on a limited budget. I wonder how he'd do if he was on a top 10 salary team compared to a bottom 10 salary team. As a comparison some people are good at making their money stretch, while other people will spend every dollar they have (foolishly sometimes). Many times people who don't have to stretch out that dollar lose sight of that talent and become the latter.

Regardless, he deserves the recognition and I am glad he is the GM of the team.
