Derek Peltier

What kind of player is Derek Peltier and is he going to play for the Avs next season?

How do you see his long term potential in the NHL?

I'd say more like a "#8" defenseman. Or even #9.

A couple guys need to be out before he gets a call up.

I could see him playing for the Avs once again this year, but Peltier doesn't have that much long-term potential. If anything, he's a tweener (although a great player and teammate) who will start sliding once some of the other Colorado prospects mature.

I see. I thought he looked great when I saw him play for Colorado.

How about Jonas Holos?

I like him. Seemed to be a good positional defender in the Olympics, good skating, capable of some big minutes too. His offensive game seemed decent enough too. Smallish though, and not really a top end offensive guy. Many people see him making the big club this year at some point.

It's going to be a hit or miss with Holos.

He's either going to be a very solid #3-6 NHL defenseman or a AHLer/Europe Leaguer his whole life.

Personally I see him making his potential as a solid NHL defenseman.

pretty much a callup if we don't think the more hyped guys are ready yet, he doesn't look out of place in the NHL in a bottom pairing role, he's just nothing special either
