Leino has talent, he showed promise last year. Hopefully he can become a solid player for us, we gave up essentially nothing. I call this a win for us.
From the 25 seconds of research I've now done on this guy that I had previously never heard of, I like the trade. It gets rid of OKT and gets us what appears to be a guy with some upside when an injury occurs or someone deserves to be benched. (I love seeing floaters going to the press box for a game but apparently Lavvy doesn't)
After watching the entire team do nothing but aim for Khudobin's chest Sat might I wouldn't mind seeing some moves like his you tube clips indicate he could be capable of. A change of scenery may be just what he needs.
I've enjoyed rereading this thread. There were alot more guys who didn't care about the trade than I remember. I'm not totally ashamed of my views at the time. Did you see some of Wolfys posts? Start at around page 15. Hillarity at it's best

Haha, the flyers are definitely the losers in this trade. Leino seems to be useless, while OKT could wear a Detroit jersey sooner than you think. He will not play in the minors yet, he's still in Detroit and had talks with their coaching staff and GM. He will head for the Olympics in a couple of days and play at least four games for Norway. The Detroit coaches will take a look at him there, and since they may have to move other defensemen because of cap issues he could be recalled already
Well he only played 3, and cross-checked a guy in the head.
Yeah, Flyers are definitely the losers in this trade.

Well it looks as if Wolfy changed his mind judging by this post in another thread:

But I don't agree that OKT is not NHL caliber, if so he wouldn't be an NHL veteran with 6 seasons behind him. His problem has been injuries, and he has to slow things down in the future.
