Sergei Gaiduchenko traded to CSKA Moscow

His contract with Lokomotiv run out and he's now a CSKA player. I guess that he won't join the Panthers this summer

That was a foregone conclusion. There really wasnt any place for him to even join the Panthers with Salak, Plante, Markstrom, and Cheverie all already signed and all probably capable of playing in the AHL. I think the team is pleased that he'll be staying in Russia for now...hopefully he gets plenty of starts though with CSKA. What other goalies do they have?

Yeah, is he going to get more playing time do you think? Does CSKA Moscow have a goalie like Gelashlivi?

Hopefully he gets more playing time & we can get an idea if he's a pro prospect or not.

not a surprise, the previous articles about him depict this...plus not a surprise he isn't coming to Florida either, as stated we are stacked with goalies....depending on how he performs in the next couple of seasons i guess will determine his future with us, as well as how our young goalies signed progress ...unless Markstrom is a bust and Gaiduchenko tears it apart, i see him being traded or signing with another NHL club in the future...but will see, the kid is huge, and apparently has great potential, hopefully he gets #1 position in CSKA

Hopefully he'll get the playing time and the Panthers can free up a spot for him in due time in North America. If Vokoun is traded and Markstrom plays in the NHL the year after next, he should have a spot somewhere.

Yes I think he's going to. At Lokomotiv he had Heikkila first and Vorobiev then, both coaches who don't like youngsters. At CSKA he's going to play under Nemchinov, which is quite the opposite. Their starting goalie most likely will be Barulin, but now Gaiduchenko has a good chance to earn some playing time.
