I was listening to CKAC, and they said Jeff Carter could be available? Would you trade Jeff Carter for Carey Price? Could be a risky move to Price in the same conference and Carter`s recent injuries.
Carter and Spezza apparently, both would fit in quite well.
What they said though was from talks with people around the Philly organization, Carter would be the odd man out amongst their centers (I know he can play wing).
I like him but he's been invisible during the finals.
He's playing at about 60% right now. He wouldn't have been back if this was the regular season, hence why he's been seeing minutes on the 4th line in the last few games.
Carter is still an elite player and I would trade Price for him, no question.
I'd do that trade in a second. It's true his playoff numbers are underwhelming (like 0.50 ppg) but you're talking a big 1st line center that can score and create. Not to mention he's on a good contract and he's still only an RFA at the end of it.

Why would the Flyers trade Carter? They're not in cap hell. They should have more than enough cap room to re-sign their players. They may want to acquire a goaltender, but they wouldn't need to trade Carter to get a good one.
JVR is the max return we should expect for Price in a trade coming from Philly, they'd want much more for Carter as in Price, Gorges and our 1st pick, they are in need of solid D on their 3rd pairing.
As far as Giroux goes, he's not goin anywhere unless they get an offer they can't refuse.
And no I doubt they'd start returning calls if Akost is in any offer going there.

Sorry dude. If Pleks hits 70 points a year at 4.5m and Carter gives you 90 (whose contract is up after next year), I'd prefer Hartnell's bulldog approach and 30 goals/30 assists and his playoff performance with a guy like van Riemsdyk to give our top 2 lines some jam and size on the wings. Guys like Armstrong at 3m is ridiculous. Would you prefer Carter and our current wingers or guys at Armstrong for 3m rather than Hartnell, Pleks and van Riemsdyk? I'd pick the latter.
If you get Carter, what do you do with Pleks anyways? He won't get much on the trade market in my opinion because he floats under the radar.
