Are you for real? He has to justify himself to you because he took a promotion for better money.

And on another note....I'm really starting to dislike Stevie Y. Go raid the Red Wings you %^&% *&^%.

True. Martin coudn't be fired. It's that simple.

Sucks that we lost Boucher though... I really hope we find another good coach for the young players in Hamilton. Personnally, I don't really hope Muller gets the job.

it's not even a question of that...it's the ****ing lack of due diligence in the first place....gainey pulling martin out of his ass...saved by halak in the PO's...gauthier replacing gainey without any off season options..and gainey's guy brought in the AHL to be groomed...i mean why else bring a young guy in? only to lose him too.

Did I tell everyone here last night that Boucher had talked to Yzerman, but too many were skeptical as there were no media releases from Montreal stating he had...my sources with the Bulldogs are solid and the Yzerman marriage seems ideal for Boucher.

Thank You. It's ridiculous how these fans feel like they are owed everything, that everyone needs to play for free and only for teh fans and nothing else.

Hockey is a job, like any other job. And like all employees everywhere, when offered with better pay and a higher job in a better area, you will take it. Stop acting like hockey players ought to be immune from that because that's just stupid, ignorant and childish.

Sad to see him ago, even though it was expected. It's pretty impressive for him though, how many coaches with absolutely no NHL experience (not even as an assistant coach) actually get to choose between two offers for NHL coaching jobs? The guy is still young, he'll coach the Canadiens some day for sure.

This is brutal, Tampa is a goaltender and a couple players away from being a good team so Boucher will likely be there for a few years while we'll see more and more of our young players traded because they don't fit our coaches "system".

The guy is a career coach, and he's given an opportunity to lead guys like Lecavalier, St-Louis, Stamkos, Malone and Hedman to victory - under Steve Yzerman, no less. What's wrong with that?

Boucher's gone. Too bad. Let's move on. Habs can get a guy like Pascal Vincent in Hamilton and keep 'educating' the roster.

Montreal will not test having rookie coaches again, let Boucher break his shoes in with Tampa, if it works, good, if not, then we always have a chance to take him back.

It's not the end of the world.

Montreal hired boucher last year to coach the ahl, he wasn't ready for nhl duties at that time. We needed a veteren coach and we got one. No one could have guessed that Boucher would have immidiate success. How can you guarentee that he will have immidiate success with Tampa?
About sums it all up right there, nothing to do but congratulate the guy on his promotion

Why wouldn't Tampa be better than us? Look at that lineup.

God damnit, and we are stuck with Martin.

Predictable, immature responses that I expected from news that we lost our AHL coach.

We're quickly losing our reputation of being sophisticated, educated and knowledgeable hockey fans. A reputation us old-timers held like the torch.

I hate the Bolts, but even with Boucher, this team is not even close to Montreal in depth, and goaltending. They SUCK between the pipes, and they have the equivalent of 4 talented forwards, and a not-so-great blue line.

This team will battle for a playoff spot, but I'm guessing we won't; we will be top 6 in the conference next season, unless the injury bug comes back.

I'm sure the new GM is going to make some changes in that regard.

Relaaaaax.

Martin was going to be the coach next year anyway. This way, we get Boucher after TB's incompetent management continues to screw up the team and he has a couple of years' experience under his belt.
