Announcing it during the finals? Disgraceful.

No. Both are lousy options who failed elsewhere in head coaching stints.

How so?

Also, anybody have any clue who the candidates might be for the vacant coaching position in Manitoba now? And what about the assistants?

Will Mike Keane still be playing next year? If not, there's a spot for him in the coaching ranks that might have just opened! He's been practically like a player-coach for years now, seems like a reasonable transition there.

Yeah, I was definitely leaning in that direction myself.

GL, Scott. You did a great job with our young'uns in Winterpeg. And now you're off to another organization.

Dammit.

Can anyone here break down the differences between Scott Arniel and Kevin Dineen system wise?

Good hire for Columbus. Arniel was one of the top coaches available, I think he'll do well in the NHL.

I don't know why I'm even bothering because this debate is an utter waste of time, but yay! here you go:

"The Tampa Bay Lightning are expected to name Guy Boucher as the teamís new head coach at a Wednesday press conference, according to various Canadian media reports."

http://gantdaily.com/2010/06/08/repo...as-head-coach/

How clucking rude!

Although you've been proven wrong by someone else, anyway, that wasn't my point. Even news of it "upstages" the finals, so what's the difference? And if he wants to rip on one franchise he can rip on another -- and I don't think either should be ripped on.

He coaches a two way style that leans more towards the defensive side. He's pretty similar to Alain Vigneault, but I'd say more of a player's coach.

Various media reports in Canada do not call press conferences. Teams call press conferences. Just saying. And this is a complete waste of time, I would agree with that...

Wrong.

He is a good Power play coach... He preaches good defense as well. Offensively.... he is pretty good at that to.

Yeah, a two way style. He coaches offense and defense well.

I'm not sure what's wrong there?

Couldn't pull out of a tailspin despite being given ample time (more than ample according to some fans). If he doesn't get a job elsewhere, he'll probably play a Scotty Bowman-esque role here.

I'd imagine that with Carlyle, Vigneault, and now Arniel moving on like they have, the Moose shouldn't have a tough time attracting their candidate of choice.

Columbus and Manitoba may swap coaches as the Blue Jackets have grated permission for the Moose to speak with Claude Noel.

Isn't Craig Ramsay the asst, who is said to have "made" the past 3 Jack Adams winners?
